One day, I discovered Pediwear or http://www.pediwear.co.uk/detail.php?stock_ID=54 . These are the "Melly" model, though they have a model called a "George" that is black and white. The "Melly" is a dark brown and light tan that is almost khaki. It is a nice vintage-looking combination.

That link is only for black and white combination.

I wonder is there a brown and white shoe available.

Geo,
I don't have Wested pants, but I do have LL Bean taupe pants and they look smashing. That's the thing with Spectators; they go with almost anything. The Alfred Sargeants I have are brown and tan, which is a great combination. I would love to have the black and white.

I have two other pairs: a brown and white and a tan and white. They are no where near as nice as these.

And pediwear is a great company to do business with. They were very nice. They asked me to confirm my size because they wanted to be sure that I knew it was in a UK sizing.

Beautiful shoes. Just lovely.

I'm embarrassed to ask, but how do you polish spectators? All the more so if one is to wear them through the Boston winter? Just curious while I save up for mine.

Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it.
How do you polish them..? Very carefully!
You need tan and brown polish and a little patience. I haven't had to polish this particular pair yet, but keep in mind: you mostly have to polish the front of any pair of shoes.
As for our lovely Boston winters, if the day is not clear and dry, they are staying home.;)

I have searched all over London and can't find those shoes. I have only found two people who have actually heard of the brand. I will just have to order them online I suppose. Something must be happening to the price. The site now says they are £ 91.99.

MK,
You can find them at Shipton and Heneage 117 Queenstown Road Battersea, London, SW8 3RH. Alfred Sargent manufacture the Shipton shoes, so it's the same shoe and it's even called "Melly" too. It's part of the Shipton "Select" range. The black-and-white spectator is called the "George". They are more expensive at Shipton though.

Look under "Contact Us/Visit Us" in the scroll menu in the upper right corner for detailed directions to the shop.

worn any time of the year?

Depends on where you live and the weather. I wore my cop cars last Sunday.
Tony Soprano has class. He knocked around a sloppily dressed guy an episode or two ago. Now If I can get past the use of the ubiquitous F word every five words then I could actually watch it more than ten mintues. Geez.

Regards to all,

J

I agree with you. Stacey Adams offers the closest thing to Golden Era shoes, and at the best price. I'm not necessarily talking about spectator shoes. Want a pair of '30s-style white oxfords to go with your summer wardrobe? Look no further:

How about a pair in black, brown, oxblood, or even gray? These models haven't changed in over 60 years:
