There is a new listing on e-bay that states he has a "DETECTIVE COMICS MAY 1939 NO. 27 VG+ CONDITION, ACTION COMICS JUNE 1938 NO. 1 VG CONDITION and a STAR WARS MARVEL SPECIAL EDITION 1977 VOL 1 NO. 1 VG+ CONDITION." for sale.
The old comics are the Famous First Editions that DC put out in the '70s but with their cardboard covers taken off.
His prices are reasonable but it is misleading.
I went to a comic book store that had one of those on the wall with a price on it as though it were the McCoy.

Sincerely,
The Wolf

This sounds a bit like the "Marvel Milestones" editions that came out in the '90's. Some quick-buck eBayscheisters decided to cash in on peoples' lack of motivation and would sell a book with a headline like, "First Appearance of the Punisher in Amazing Spiderman 129! NM!!" and they would scan the god's honest image of the actual book which clearly reads "Marvel Milestones". People would bid out of control just to find they received a repro they could have bought for pocket change at any flea market. All they had to do was "L@@K" at the picture to see the obvious difference.

Sort of off the topic, but I've been looking for a particular issue of Popular Detective for quite a few years. Anyone know a good source for postwar detective comics? They seen to be exceedingly rare.

Specifically, I'm looking for a May 1947 Popular Detective. Any leads appreciated.

I come into those kinds of magazines from time to time, I'll keep my eye out.

I have a August 1947 Front Page Detective in my own personal collection. Heh heh, not the same I know. But same era. (I'm in love with the woman on the cover. Shes a bad girl, yes she is.... )
