Hello to everyone here at the Fedora Lounge. I am amazed nearly every day at all of the beautiful hats y'all post. I have a modest collection of vintage fedoras from different makers, a couple of custom made just for me ,as well as a fedora that Randall Renshaw reworked for me. I've been silently watching and reading for a couple of years ...even been posting a few pics of some of my hats so I figured I should introduce myself.
Not much to say...just an old retired guy from Kentucky that likes fedoras !

Hope y'all have a good ' un !
Welcome, Timmy! Looking forward to seeing more of your collection.

Hello, new member out of Europe. I'm a general enthusiast for classic mens fashion, of course including hats and classic caps. Got a few vintage felts and straws in my rotation that I like to pair with classic outfits. I will wear a tie most places as long as its not too hot, and these days a hat always goes with it.

Its only been a couple years or so since I started wearing hats regularly, but I got used to them rather quickly. Now its hard to leave the house without one. My favourites are natural Panamas, I consider them to be beautiful pieces of art. I appreciate the effort involved with weaving them by hand and deeply respect the weavers keeping this tradition alive.

Its quit ironic actually; I cant stand the summer heat, but absolutely love summer outfits!

I to have been lurking for some time. My hat collection is pathetic but I do enjoy seeing the incredible examples on here!
i do have an interesting family picture I will share. I am the guy on the far right. This series is the oldest males in each generation from my fathers side. The first on far left is Ezra Mallory.
Mallory hat business dropped off to coincide with the inability of the men in my family to retain hair, ironically.

This is an amazing display of your family lineage, I would welcome any historical information you feel comfortable sharing on this public forum regarding the Mallory hat business. Cheers!

Hello everyone,

My name is Martin. I am French, but I live in Mexico since 6 months. I have been reading this forum for the past three months, and I love hats. The more I discover this world, the more I love it.
Thank you to all the members for sharing invaluable information about this universe.

I ordered my first western custom hat from Michael at Gannon Hat Co (100% beaver in pecan), I should receive it soon and will share some pictures.
I am also planning to start making hats myself (both western and fedora) as a hobby. I hope to begin in about a month once I receive all the necessary materials. I am very excited and can’t wait to share my work with you all.

I look forward to exchanging ideas with everyone. Thanks again.

Warm regards,

Martin

I didn’t think to search for this thread as every forum has one but I stumbled on it. My name is Robert from Chicago, and I have been diagnosed with mad hat disease. The only cure is managing a huddle of good looking hats to bring out my style and presence.

My first upscale hat was an Optimo straw I picked up over 7 years ago which is back at the factory for some TLC and my second upscale hat was an Optimo Metropolitan which I ordered in August and picked up in October. Now I just won an auction for a Biltmore Royal. I have also contacted Hufvud for a Lord’s hat and left a WTB thread in the classifieds. Looking forward to learning more about hats, including seeing and reading everyone else’s journeys. Cheers.

Welcome to you, Robert!
As you know, your hat size makes you a standout, especially around here. Stick around, stay visible, and something could turn up in your size. There are others (although not many) here who share your plight.
We’re here for you, sir.
