Hi. I'm pretty new here too and just wanted to add that I read somewhere in this forum (can't remember where and can't find it now) DO NOT use Scotch Gaurd on Fur felt hats. Don't know why but I'm not going to try it to find out why. Just thought I'd throw that in here. Oh yeah, welcome to the newer than me guys and gals. KF

Some people say don't do it because it makes the felt stiff and sticky, other people say it's absolutely fine. I have no personal experience with using Scotchgard on a hat, but Scout felt hat protector in my experience doesn't change the feel of the felt, at least when used in moderation.
