New Member and new hats

Well, allow me to introduce myself. I live in Denver, CO and unlike any of my friends, I have worn a hat for years, however it has mostly been a cheap Flex-Felt from Wally World or wherever I could find one. I bought a cheap Fedora from (shudder) Burlington this past year and I've liked wearing it. I've been reading a few posts here now and then and recently thought I'd see if I could find myself a "real" hat. Over the weekend I went to the local Antique store and found a few. I might have over-bought for a first-timer, but hey I couldn't reisist....all four that I bought were $15 each. From what I can tell, I now have 1 Royal Stetson Whippet, 1 Open road, 1 Stetson that I cannot find a model name one it anywhere and 1 Knox twenty-five. So, did I do well for a 1st purchase?

HOLY COW JC..what a find!!! It appears to be 3 40's-50's fedoras and one 60's...did you get the boxes also for that price?? ( the boxes alone are worth twice what you paid for the hats)

Art, that's good news. I will admit, I didn't buy them for resale, I am looking forward to wearing them. And yes, that did include the boxes, however, I am not sure which hat came in which box originally. I was very picky to get 3 Stetson boxes and one Knox, to match the hats. They did have a couple more hats there, one was a Dobbs, model unknown, for $25. That one looked to be in mint condition. But it was much too small for me to wear. They also had one that I don't recognise...a Brown Crest??? Oh and ok, I'll bite....what's involved in this dish washing deal, huh? We got a dishwasher around here!

Yup, the "new guy" is always the dishwasher!! No worries though, this place grows so fast that your turn doesn't last long. We DO however, have many heavy drinkers...

Gee you all sure know how to make a guy feel welcome. Felonious accusations and threats of assault! Hmmm, makes me wonder what would have happened if I had bought poor quality hats! Seriously, it's good to hear that I actually did well on this purchase. I doubt I will ever be able to duplicate it!

I have found some fine vintage hats in Colorado. Bunch of mining folks who liked lids and didn't mind paying for them.
