Fantastic-looking jacket, and it looks like a perfect fit. How's it feel? Reason I ask is because I'm a fan of bi-swing backs and was thinking that jacket design could accomodate one, though I don't know if Stu would be amenable to such a request.
It's one of those jackets that just feels "right". Sleeves nice and high cut. Arm holes are wide enough that they don't pinch. I recently loss 10 pounds due to an illness, so the jacket will fit even better when I gain that back. As for a bi-swing back I think Stuart would only accommodate this if another one of his models featured them which I don't think any of his jackets have. You could ask him...but I would use caution. Oh, and did I mention that smell! Nothing can compare to the smell of fresh leather.

LW does make a G-1,which has a bi-swing back, but I've never seen that feature incorporated on any of his other models. Stu really knows his leather and makes a superb product. I own afew LW jackets and they are a marvel of design, quality and production. The goatskin is just as nice as the HH. Enjoy your jacket!

WOW! I love it, thanks for posting.

I had a Test jacket from LW but found it a bit too boxy in the body for me and sold it, especially in the upper arms and across the back. I've been looking at getting a Suburban as cold weather jacket that would accommodate layering a sweater, but had been hesitant given my experience with the Test jacket... however now I'm thinking the Ryder would be the call for me.

In any case, the jacket looks superb.

Awesome jacket! Awesome fit! One more to add to my ever-growing wish list!

I have the Buco Rider version of LW's CR as well as the Schott 141, and I can see how the Easy Ryder is similar to the 141, but weight & feel is pretty different - I wear my 141 when I want a less heavy, softer CR. I like both!

After several years of owning my LW A2, I decided to use my tax return on something new. Someday I would like to own an Aero, but I think I have been brainwashed by LW's website:) . I contacted Stuart and requested a Ryder half belt made to my measurements, only I wanted an additional pocket. I requested 3.5 oz horsehide. After waiting just a month, my jacket arrived. The craftsmanship is outstanding! And the fit is spot on perfect. The size tag states this is a 34 Short. The back length is 23" as I requested. As compared to my A2 (a LW Sales item) the leather is much more quiet, and has a very even grain. My A2 is very noisy, and the grain even when new was much more varied. Here are some poor quality pictures. my good camera is dead and I can't find the charger. *Better pictures now on page 3*

I found my charger, I'll try to get some detail shots this weekend. I asked for a length of 23" so I decided to measure the back and found it to be exactly 23" which is awesome. I't's gonna take a long time to get this broken in. It's supposed to be around 3.5oz. Either Stuart overlooked this and made it from his standard 4.0+oz hide, or this really is "lighter" 3.5oz and I'm just not manly enough for it...
How much does it weigh?

Very nice looking jacket. great features. I have a suburban that is probably 3.5 range, a Roadmaster maybe 2.5, and a Test that is over the limit. The Suburban is a very nice weight to me. He can really work leather. All are HH jackets. have been close to buying a couple of goatskin. Like it or not his horsehide is nice, nothing like I've seen. It is pretty old school leather. I've seen a couple of customs on ebay I even have one I forgot about. Doesn't fit me.
I'm choosing between Suburban and Test, can't understand why Test is by $150 more expensive?

Today Stuart told me a Test and Suburbam are pretty similar jackets. I just can't understand why the Test is more expensive.

The Test and Suburban might be generally similar but the Test has a more detailed back as well as leather cuff straps making it's construction probably more labor intensive and thus a more costly jacket. Both look like absolutely superb jackets.

Here is the Test with a Suburban and a Roadmaster. They were taken right after I got the Test, the Suburban is pre-owned. In this album there are more pics of the three. While similar, the Test is a pretty good size jacket. Mine is super heavy. the Suburban is a lighter weight, but a weight I would go with.

The strap cuffs on the Test are somewhat useless. Adjustment after a year is pretty difficult. The Suburban jacket with zipp and button don't close tight enough. Open of closed doesn't make much difference on mine.

I'm sorry about the link. I'll get it fixed/
do you think there is much difference between the 3.5 and 4 oz horsehide ???

I'm not really sure of the weight of these jackets. I've owned up to 5 LW jackets and the leather is all a bit different. I know the Test weight was the heaviest he had at the time, but the actually weight was never mentioned. If the Test is 4 the Suburban would be the 3.5 and yes it is a big difference, but then the tanning on each of my jacket is just a bit different to my touch. My Roadmaster is probably less than a 3 ounce.

The lining on the Test is different than the Suburban. the Test has some heavy course material the Suburban is very light, silk like. I don't the names for the linings.

LW horsehide is not like Horween I have seen. I don't know who makes his leather, but it is old school stuff.

Thanks tmitchel59, your input is very valuable to me.
Yes, LW leather is absolutely different. I have a Peacoat in 3 oz, it's light, around 2 kg, but exteremly durable. Stuart says they have there own tannary in NYC.
