New Limited Edition Trojan from LW

Presenting the new crown jewel of my collection, the Limited Edition Trojan from Lost Worlds. The Trojan has always been one of my favorite designs, and I've lusted for this beauty from the moment it appeared on the LW webpage, LOL.

Very nice, you won't be scraping your elbows in that one if you go down! The leather looks superb especially in the first pic, soft glow to the leather.
Do you know what the thickness is (.mm) or the weight (.oz)?
Congrats on getting a jacket you've wanted for sometime.

ps. I'm assuming it's hh?
pss. I'd be interested in knowing how many lbs. the jacket weighs too if you know.

The jacket weighs ~7 lbs., according to the bathroom scale (so not too accurate, but it's what I've got). 4.0+ oz. horsehide.

Thanks Snark, nice and heavy but not outrageous as per the impression of LW leather sometimes read about. Nor do I see any hint of a heavy clear coating on the leather which is a description I think I've also come across. The leather looks superb.

Wouldn't mind seeing a few snaps of the interior either.

Per request, shots of interior lining: NOS 1950s tartan wool; warm enough to stay comfy down to about freezing (w/ windshield, of course). The built-in flash shots don't really do this justice, but it's the best I can provide at the moment.

Very nice choice! I really like the Trojan design also. It looks like Lost Worlds is sourcing some nice mouton these days. That collar looks nice and cozy...ahhhhh.

OMG I love that jacket! It is really one of the best looking new coats I have seen in a long time. It does remind me of my modified Aero Bootlegger with half belt ( Cordovan ) which may be one of the reasons I like it so much. Good looking work of art. Enjoy! ---john

WOW...That jacket is off the scale...... absolutely beautiful leather..... great design.....and the mouton goes really well which I wouldn't of expected..... back to the drawing room for me on a jacket I've ordered.... and the fit looks spot on..... Perfect jacket mate.... Well done ...and now .....enjoy!!!

I'm on my 2nd LW's & there is no coating in my experience. The pics on Stuart's website for some reason give the impression that his jackets have a shiny, plasticy sheen that they do not don't have in the flesh.

Thanks, everyone. The fit really is perfect on this jacket... couldn't be better if I had been there in person for a tailored fitting.

As for the "coating"... there is none on any LW leather (I'm trying very hard NOT to imagine Stuart's reaction to THAT notion, LOL... he's known to be somewhat hard-core on some issues). All new leather has some shine to it, unless it has been "aged" somehow by the manufacturer, and without careful lighting this will result in a plastic-y appearance in a photo. I've seen some shots of Aero jackets that look a lot like the dreaded pleather, which they most definitely are not. The good news is that the shine isn't as noticable in real life, and wears away quickly with break-in.

Right on Snark about the LW abscence of "coating." That seems to be a widely circulated piece of misinformation. Again, LW should get more respect on this Forum because Stuart does build some mean jackets. All of your recent LW purchases and outstanding photographs of you wearing the jackets are proof positive.

I second those sentiments exactly Coffee. It's long since puzzled me why people let Stuart's quirky nature deter them from buying one of the finest leather jackets produced. Also it never ceases to amaze me that so many Americans buy from a particular non-US maker when quality of this exemplary standard can be had right from their own back yard!

Most American buy their Aero jackets through Mark Moye @ "AeroUSA's Ebay" website. Why? It's EASY.....Mark takes care of shipping and Customs. It's harder emailing or calling Amanda/Will in Scotland, getting swatches, listening to sizing advice from experts and placing the order. Then you have to have it shipped and "Oh My Gosh, it still has to go through Customs!" What a bloody chore this is, I'll just go through AeroUSA because my friend did.

So why don't you look at Lost World's selection of jackets? Why? So I can get bitched at by some surly old man who thinks I'm gay because I want other guys at the Lounge to see if my butt looks too big in this newly acquired Highwayman. I'd rather eat a big bag of horse manure than place an order through that guy at LW...I've read his comments. Never mind that LW does superlative work. Expensive? You bet.....so is GW, Aero and RMNZ.
Heck, we have people paying $200.00 for a pair of jeans. Why? Because "everyone else does."

After seeing 1087's jacket and The Snark's recent acquisitions, you can bet I'll be getting something from Lost Worlds also!
It's so much EASIER to be the follower. The majority of people living in America are lethargic and lazy; most are led around like lost sheep.

I guess that just about sums it up. Personally I can live with working with Stuart short term when the result is a jacket of special quality that will last for life. The Snark's Trojan is testament enough.

Personally, I've never had any difficulty at all with Stuart at LW... he's always been helpful and professional. Having said that, it's clear enough from his website that he does have some strong opinions and seems a bit eccentric at times. But... as I've said before, it's a business deal, not a personal relationship; as long as he delivers products of this quality and stands behind them, I have nothing but good things to say. I suppose it's apparent by now that I'm a big fan.

It seems likely that an obsessive and occasionally abrasive nature is almost a requirement, considering the dedication and determination needed for this sort of near-microscopic attention to detail. (Please don't bother to reply with your list of exceptions to the rule... it's just a rule, not a law of nature.) I've worked with quite a few people of similar nature, and almost to man, they believe the rest of the world is populated by idiots. If they didn't believe that, they wouldn't be able to stick to their guns and refuse to compromise even an iota. That refusal to compromise may be annoying at times, but I'm convinced these things sort of go hand-in-hand... they regard themselves as artists in the true sense of the word, and they just won't budge for anyone. LW products are truly world-class: "works of art"... and I don't use that phrase often or without considerable deliberation. (And for anyone wondering, I have no connection whatsoever with LW other than as a customer; I've never even been within a hundred miles of NY).

Don't get me wrong... there are other good manufacturers out there, but I don't know of any that surpass LW quality (and only a small handful that are equal), but it does seem there is an inordinate degree of focus on personality here. I've never had any problems at all with the man... and why would anyone think artists are (or even should be) easy to work with?
