Does anybody have a jacket in their new horsehide, or handled one? What's the verdict? FYI, LL is charging an extra 50 pounds for the cowhide now. Thank you.

Ordered a LL in horsehide a couple of weeks back. Will let you know once it arrives.

Online there are several pictures and it seems you need to put in some serious wear to get the character out but I like their styles a lot

When I visited the LL store in London awhile back I found I much preferred their horsehide over their cowhide. I almost ordered a Dominator in black horsehide and olive cotton drill lining. The only negative was the small LL patch just above the left chest pocket. I love their Dominator and Corsair.

Handled one a couple of months ago. Not very impressed. Lighter weight and a bit stiffer than the cowhide, kind of like Schott's HH but feels thinner.

Interesting. Did you get to compare the LL sheep and cow?

I tried them both at Inspiration a couple years back...preferred the cow/steer. The same goes for Schott- I prefer the steer.
Would love a Dominator one day...that navy...:)

It was a HH Super monza that my fd bought a couple of months ago. He let me try it on. I own a cowhide Europa and he owns another 2 LL cowhide a blue Lightning and an Easy Rider . The local dealer do not have any sheepskin and none of my fds has a sheepskin LL. Was in Tokyo about 2 weeks ago. Really regret not going into the LL shop in Harajuku when we walked past.

I like the Dominator too. Too bad the local dealer is a fashion boutique so they only have the Lightning T cut now. When I bought my regular Europa from them a few years back, they had one Dominator in stock (some deadstock from a few seasons earlier including my Europa) but was one size too small. I tried it on anyway and really like it. My fds ordered theirs from LL directly but I prefer buying in-stock items. Read too many threads about not getting the right jacket after half a year wait etc etc.

Yes, and even if they make a custom one for you, leaving the patch off is not an option.

That's what the incredibly nice chap at LL, whose name I don't recall, told me too. :( I will say though I was very impressed with everything about the LL store - service, products, and the overall presentation. It is very worthwhile for anyone visiting London to take the London Tube (Underground) to the Goodge Street stop (I think), and then a 5-10 minute walk to the LL store. With my total lack of sense of direction, anyone can get there is I can.
