I just realized that I haven't properly introduced myself!
My name is Jonni (it's pronounced JoHnny) and I am so pleased to have found the Fedora Lounge! I have had an affinity for the Golden Era for a long time now (after spending time obsessed with the Victorian/Edwardian eras) and it's so nice to find others who feel the same way. As you know, you don't find people like that much in everyday life, sometimes I feel like such an oddball.
I love fashion history and I would dearly love to have a wonderful closet full of vintage garments to wear but, alas, they don't seem to come in my size. So I rely on trying to focus on classic styles in modern clothes, adding a vintage flair whenever possible. I own 2 sewing machines and don't have a clue how to use them but I would like to learn so that I could make a few of my own things. I love, love, love hats and wear them whenever possible!
I just recently moved from California (slightly south of the SF Bay Area) to the land of Mickey Mouse in Florida. I can't even begin to tell you how homesick I am when I read about all the wonderful activities taking place in SF. There doesn't seem to be a lot of vintage events in Florida, at least I haven't found 'em.
I look forward to many happy times here!
