New jacket day! Aero Board Racer / Abyss Blue Bainbridge

Man, that leather has a ton of character.

Blue is not a colour I had really considered in a leather jacket some years back, but it's really growing on me (quite possibly as much as anything as a subconscious excuse that's better than "but it followed me home!" ). I really, really like this one though. Looks like leather and indigo selvedge somehow mated!

Proportions look spot on in terms of length, I see far too often Board Racers with sleeves & body length too long (in my opinion) but yours looks spot on with the raised zipper stop falling around your belt line.

Makes me want to consider ordering another BR, I’ve already had 2 from Aero......

And please correct me if I am wrong, I recall that TB offer the leather across all the makers they work with. Aero and Vanson for sure, I've yet to see a Thedi in these hides. Understandable given his offerings but this blue is real nice.

I'd love to see a 'teacore' type leather in seal over russet. I have seen an Aero A2 years ago that had worn a bit that way. The outer layer hadn't fully come off or anything, just some more subtle wear at high points that had gone a notable reddish hue. Looked superb. Would love to see a black that wore that way over blue or oxblood. Like the old black-blue goat Aero did for Levis in the 90s, but perhaps less aggressive in the wear.

That seal over russet sounds very cool to me. My brown cxl jacket shows rust on high points as well which I think looks fabulous but seal brown will definitely look even better. Oh okay, didn't know Aero and Levi's go way back.

I wonder what that blue Bainbridge will show eventually.

Very nice fit. That is SUPER blue and I dig that. If you're going to get blue leather, make it colorful. I don't like when navy leather is almost black and you would not think that with this jacket.

This is such a great blue, especially for a CR. I’m super curious to see how this wears in and what will show through. I get the feeling it’s dyed straight through but if wear points start to lighten up, this will have all the glory of a dark indigo denim jacket (which would be superb)!
