new hat i just bought

oh im so excited! i told myself i would limit my exposure to this site due to your profound influence on my sense of style. however call me a victim of perhaps excessive rum or a love of all things vintage or a little of both here is my new baby

its a vintage straw stetson ( i wanted my next hat to be a straw due to the burgeoning heat of the desert west, my black felt fedora cooks my brain)

perhaps someone knows?
its my size and had a buy now option thus eliminating the need for me to compete :eusa_clap

Hey that's one sharp hat! Good buy. I'd estimate it to be from the 60's, but I could be wrong. And don't worry about our influence on your sense of style, it's a GOOD influence!! And I realize "Buy it Now" is a great feature, but don't let it limit you!! Bidding and "competing" can be fun. Great hat nonetheless.

That was a pretty good find. A Stetson Select from the 60s with a bound edge doesn't grow on trees. It should give you many good decades of service.
Try a little Lexol on the sweatband. That will also make it last longer. I always try to put some on the back side of mine to rejuvenate them a bit. Of course, turn out the sweatband when you do this so you don't stain the hat.

My first hat arrived and congrats on your purchase!

My first fedora arrived yesterday and I have been wearing it everywhere. Most comfortable hat I have ever owned. I have had several compliments so far. I would like to compliment you on your purchase, a beautiful hat ,although with my build the crown is a little high for me. I am new to wearing these types of lids, so forgive my ignorance but are stetsons normal higher crowned hats?
