New hat from Vintage Silhouettes

One last bit about the new hat... I finally got a chance to compare it to my vintage hats, and it is actually softer and a "finer" felt than some of them!

I have a Borsalino that is thinner (almost too thin - I'm afraid to wear it too often), as well as a Royal Stetson Deluxe from the '50s that is also thinner - but way stiffer.

The VS Hat is a nicer felt than my late '40s Open Road and late 30s/early 40s Royal Deluxe. Plus - it fits better than any of them!

Great Hat!

That is a super creation. Do you mind sharing the dimensions on this hat. You are making me want to order one. It looks great and i like you comment about its lightness. I am in San Diego and prefer a lighter weight hat. Thanks!

It is 7 3/8", with a 5.5" crown and a 2 3/4 inch brim.

I measured a vintage Borsalino and sent the numbers to Art. Art recommended a 2 3/4" brim rather than 3", and I'm glad he did.

What's it called?

So does this hat have a name just in case other people want to order the same one?

Thank you Kevin, and Russ, this was a one of a kind for Matei so it's isn't named. What I HAVE started doing as suggested by a friend, is registering every hat I make and photographing them. At some point in the near future I plan to have a "Gallery" of hats done for clients using only the reg. numbers to insure the clients anonimity but let others get ideas based on what has been done. In Matei's case I could only make a few because it was a small roll of ribbon ( vintage) so a limited edition wouldn't work.

Fantastic

Art wasn't kidding when he said that Steel was a beautiful color. What a hat... not that I'm surprised.

BTW, Art, your website isn't working, in case you didn't know.
