...from the November 1933 issue of "Country Gentleman" magazine.
Patterns could be ordered for 10 cents. I'd like to see these styles come back. :)

I think the vernacular of this magazine could sell me just about anything, but makes me crazy when they're lovely puffed-sleeved frocks with matching jackets!

BOSTON! LETS GO PATRIOTS!!!
I too wish those styles would come back into fashion. I don't see why they aren't. They are pretty and all important figure flattering. Wouldn't it be lovely to see a sea of these dresses walking down the street rather than too low gym shorts with writing on the toosh and tummy revealing t-shirts. There are a lot of lovely frocks and skirt outfits that I have seen in new catalogs, I don't understand why I rarely see a gal wearing them.

Oh, I just love these! I've started sewing outfits for myself since nothing in the stores appeals to my 1930s-vintage-thinking mind. I love how women's clothing had so many interesting details compared to today's boxy t-shirt/sweatshirt styles.

:eek:fftopic: Have you seen the ladies shoes in the stores? They either look like slippers or shoes better suited for a man. What has happened to womanhood?

Yes, lets bring back these dresses!

Glad you all like these.

Even though they are just from a magazine, they are still quite amazing by today's standards. Lots of details like the pleated fronts. :) And to think,...this was common everyday stuff and most women could probably make these themselves.
