New Doc Savage movie

Variety is reporting that there is a new Doc Savage movie in development. This coupled with the recent pulp reprints and upcoming DC Comics series show a serious upswing of interest in the character. Let's hope Doc fares better in the 2010s than he has in comics and movies in the past.

Same here. The Batman/Doc comic wasn't too bad, though.

Yes indeed. I remember being so excited about seeing this movie in 1975. I was a big fan of Doc Savage and had read many of the pulp novel reprints that were popular at the time. Ron Ely looked great as Doc Savage on the posters, and the trailers made the film look like it would be so much fun. You can imagine my surprise and disappointment when I finally saw the movie and how George Pal had turned my hero into a campy joke. Now 35 years later, I am hoping that Doc Savage will finally receive some justice!
