Fantastic! Nice work there Guppy. I also agree about the sleeve zips. Very nice fit & finish! Now for the break-in...

Just reminds me how often a jacket from someone else can fit as well or better than a custom. It has happened to me too many times to remember.
Totally true. As I often say - even to myself - you can't overthink things too much. That's when we usually ruin a good thing. I have two jackets today that were 2nd handers. Two I've kept amongst all others. Never avoid used/flipped if it looks like the numbers/style match yours!

Almost-new secondhand jackets are an outstanding value!

This thread just arrived on my radar; I've been spending too much time on watch forums again. :p It appears the fit couldn't possibly be improved on, and I really like the minimalist look of no chest pocket(s). I wish now I had ordered my Sheenes with at least one inside pocket for my iPhone. Anyhow well done @Guppy ...

Went away for the weekend, and grabbed my Sheene for the trip. I meant to grab the Wayfarer, but it was dark when I left, and I was half asleep. It was colder than I was expecting, and we had snow overnight, but I think I did ok. Fortunately it wasn't too windy.

Hey Guppy:
Cool jacket for a cool pic of a cool museum home.
That’s Falling Waters around Confluence Pa. Did you make it to Shanksville and the 9/11 Memorial? Such a beautiful area to be sure.
Be well. Bowen
Ps: i think Frank Lloyd Wright woulda dug your Sheene. He had some style too! B

Cool, I was thinking it was house on the rock, in Wisconsin. Guess that would be quite a trip for you from Ohio. Looks great and nice photography...

I only spent the day, and saw Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. It's too bad not more of the local architecture isn't of a similar caliber. Along the way I saw quite a range of buildings, from many eras, most of them rather humble, and quite a few in a sorry state. But a few very picturesque places, too.

Popping this thread back open, specifically to ask Guppy how the Steerhide is breaking in on this magnificent Sheene?

I have a similarly-stiff CX Steer Highwayman presently that is kicking the break-in efforts at all costs. Mine is also very close to Vanson Comp weight, but my three other Horween CX Steerhide jackets are not like that at all. Simply put them on and they "soften" up a good bit in 10 minuites of wear. I've actually considered taking a shower in it to just try, but I am not sure I'm ready to do that just yet.

It's been good. I have so many jackets that it's difficult to put appreciable wear on any of them, but it's hard to complain about having a problem like that. I have some brown starting to show through at the high points and edges, and sleeve creases to die for. But overall it's still rather stiff. Warming it up does help it to relax and feel comfortable, though, especially on a day when it's above 65F.
