RubberSoul...
I'm the same Jeff M who posted to your thread about this jacket over at the VLJ forum.
A few thoughts come to mind.

Aside from A2's produced by Eastman for the European Buzz Rickson market, I understand that BR's A2's are produced in China with design and supplies supplied/specified by BR.

Egads, there is a lot of misinformation and bad rumors out there.

Buzz Rickson's-branded jackets of ANY kind are not made in China. PERIOD!!!! Toyo Enterprises Co., Ltd., the owner of the BR brand, owns a cheaper military brand called United Carr, and these UC-made items are produced in China.

Eastman Leather Clothing does NOT produce A-2's or any other jackets for Buzz Rickson's in Europe or anywhere else.

It's absolutely amazing how much utter nonsense is stated as fact that, most likely, continues to be spread and, probably, is further diluted and/or embellished, all of which could be so easily verified if anyone elected to put just a little effort into their posts vs. being lazy and just fueling myth.

Nice work bringing back a thread from 6/2012 to castigate! Well done.

Nothing like jumping in with both feet just to castigate!

I was pleasantly ignorant of this post until brought to my attention by Blackadder in post #49 here:

http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?83206-Layering-OVER-a-leather/page5

And I'll also post a screenshot, but I think it'll be too small to read:

I was endeavoring to set the record straight and crush misinformation and bad information that seems to circulate interminably, much like jumping on people without knowing all the facts, ButteMT61.

Do you like seeing misinformation circulated?

Do you believe we should just look the other way when we know misinformation is circulating?

Do you have a problem with people setting the record straight, speaking the truth, or justifiably protecting the interests and livelihood of themselves and those they represent?

Would you allow such acts to stand if they were directed to you under the same circumstances?

Just as a matter of interest, I always wondered about the extremely limited production runs they have. Do they in house manufacturer or pass out for piece work ?

Toyo Enterprises doesn't own any factories, so everything is made for them to specs. they supply to various manufacturing businesses and a cut-and-sew facilities.

Hello Folks,
I just purchased this Buzz AC-27752 and I am very pleased. Not sure how authentic Buzz makes their A2's but the quality is top shelf. I currently own an Eastman 1401Roughwear in Russet and also an Aero 42-15142 in Seal which I am going to sell both of them. I am very happy with this new Buzz Rickson and I also have a Goodwear on order from John Chapman.
Here are a few photos.

nice jacket .It looks very solid
I have aero a2 and eastman A2 and A2 for US Auth (all HH ) Of all these, what I value the most is A2 US authentic. Maybe historically not accurate but I love it because it has something in itself
In pictures Yours A2 BR very similar to US AUTH A2
Your A2 Buzz have the skin thick and solid as in A2 us auth. HH.
Color jacket russet virtually the same.
Best regards

First thought would be not to bump your thread by quoting all the same pics lol
It's nice. It's a RRL jacket, which is a BR jacket, which is probably the nicest off the shelf "A-2" I've seen.
How's that? :)

May I please ask what an RRL jacket is, Butte? Nothing comes to mind what it may stand for … (maybe I need more coffee this morning!)
Thanks!

A brand within a brand, some say it stands for Rikki & Ralph Lauren, some say it is named for the Double R ranch which they own. A way of extracting yet more money from you by perceived exclusivity. Boy did I wake up on the cynical side of the bed today :).

Ah, like Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch!
Well, I'm glad I asked as I assumed it was meant towards A2s - I'd never have got that. "Roughwear something Label …. er …. RL??? No. Erm ….". I'd have been there all day.
Thank you, Otter!

No problem, I learned something myself.

Thanks for clearing that up HPA, I always suspected that was the case, but no one seemed to be alble to confirm or deny it.

Back to topic : I do like the slightly Matt finish to that A2, looks a bit different to the current crop of shiny ones. Did you add the nice escape whistle ?

Here's a current picture of my ELC Rough Wear 27752 (which I am wearing today) which was purchased back in 2011, I personally feel it looks better that the BR version but that's just my opinion.....

I've never seen a Buzz A2 in person, and I'd really love to someday and I wish it could be next to a great ELC A2 like yours, Marv, so I could do a good comparison.
Yours looks great, man.
