Hello Folks,
I just purchased this Buzz AC-27752 and I am very pleased. Not sure how authentic Buzz makes their A2's but the quality is top shelf. I currently own an Eastman 1401Roughwear in Russet and also an Aero 42-15142 in Seal which I am going to sell both of them. I am very happy with this new Buzz Rickson and I also have a Goodwear on order from John Chapman.
Here are a few photos.

First thought would be not to bump your thread by quoting all the same pics lol
It's nice. It's a RRL jacket, which is a BR jacket, which is probably the nicest off the shelf "A-2" I've seen.
How's that? :)

I didnt realize I did that. Is that considered my first offense :)
Thanks for the input. I think im getting out of hand with this A2 addiction. I literally got my first one in Feb of this year. Now I own 3, am looking to sell two and have two more on order. Is there therapy out there :)

RubberSoul...
I'm the same Jeff M who posted to your thread about this jacket over at the VLJ forum.
A few thoughts come to mind.

Aside from A2's produced by Eastman for the European Buzz Rickson market, I understand that BR's A2's are produced in China with design and supplies supplied/specified by BR
.
Being made in China is not necessarily a bad thing, but in general, Made in China A2's are generally not renowned for their quality.
Re; "reproduction design quality", I think most folks familiar with the market would say the gold standard is Good Wear.
I tend to put Rough Wear, Eastman a step behind,..but that's me.
Bill Kelso's new line looks very intriguing. If they come through with the product it looks like they are aiming for, they could give Eastman quite a run for their money.

A big factor is, what did you pay for the jacket?
The Japanese A2 producers (BR, Rough Wear, "The Few") charge a LOT for their new products. Overpriced to me...especially when you consider you can order a beautiful, accurate, custom fit Good Wear A2 for maybe 66% the cost of a Buzz Rickson A2.
I'd can't see myself ever buying a new Buzz Rickson A2 (non Eastman) A2 at those prices.
Used...maybe...but even used, they have to compete with used Good Wear prices.

Bottom line, as always, is if you like the jacket, it fits how you want it to, you are satisfied with the price...then it's a keeper.

Therapy is a p*ssed off wife lolOr, just stay here and get worse. We all do...Kinda fun though. Just set a limit, and then do a one in, one out thing. It works well for me. Usually.

Hey Jeff M,

I got it at a good price,NWT. Im happy with it. This one is not made in China though definitely made in Japan. You are right though they tend to be very overpriced.

Hey Jeff M,

Have you gotten your hands on any Kelso's yet?

Not yet.
When I think about ordering one, I ask myself, "would you rather risk a new BK -a design/jacket that hasn't really been around that long/proven itself yet- spend the money on a used Good Wear, or, put down a down payment for a brand new GW, " and I hold off on ordering

I had one of the vintage Ralph lauren A2's! It was made in China! Awesome quality on that jacket, Ralph lauren and Buzz make high quality items!
Very nice jacket you have there!

Cheers Joakim

Does the label have a "Made In" component?

RubberSoul, despite what the label in your jacket says, I would be very surprised if BR is making their LR A2's in Japan.
The price of producing an item like a leather jacket in China vs Japan is a VERY strong incentive for BR to look to China for production. Add to that that the LR order must have been a fairly large one....BR would have a hard time ramping up production de-novo in Japan vs using what they already have established in China.
It's an interesting question.
I'll post a thread over at the VLJ asking where BR is getting their products from.

Yep, the label says made in Japan, I have a friend who works at RL, I had him research from within regarding this same very question, this was a limited run of these jackets for RRL last fall. I am very confident in my buddy's research on this.

Interesting.
Can't see why BR would fire up a whole production system in a different country from where the rest of their line is made for one run of jackets. Just look at the glitches Bill Kelso had getting their new line up and running....and that isn't a one time run, but their whole line.
Wonder who in Japan they contracted with to make the jackets?
Wonder if any of their other leather products are produced in Japan?

slightly off topic, but have just posted pics of my new BK if anyone's interested (but it is the 'house style' - actually, looks like its is the RW without repro zip and snappers)
