I do not know if this has been posted or not. I tried using the search feature and kept getting directed to a shirt ad site. I found this on the History Channel site today

" Bonnie & Clyde, a star-studded miniseries for HISTORY, LIFETIME and A&E, has begun filming on location in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The four-hour, two-night event stars Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild) and Holliday Grainger (The Borgias) in the title roles of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker, the Depression-era outlaw couple whose criminal exploits earned them lasting fame for the past eight decades. Bonnie & Clyde will be simulcast on HISTORY, LIFETIME and A&E later this year. Its stellar cast includes Academy Award, Golden Globe and Emmy winner Holly Hunter (The Piano), as well as Academy Award winner and multiple Golden Globe and Emmy nominee William Hurt (Too Big to Fail). The miniseries reunites Hunter and Hurt, who starred in and earned Oscar nominations for 1987’s Broadcast News. Hunter will play Emma Parker, Bonnie’s mother, and Hurt will play Frank Hamer, the Texas Ranger pursuing the Barrow gang. Other key cast members include Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) as Blanche Barrow, Clyde’s sister-in-law; Lane Garrison (Prison Break) as Clyde’s brother, Buck; Elizabeth Reaser (The Twilight Saga) as P.J. Lane, a writer tracking the gang; Austin Hébert (True Blood) as Ted Hinton, a lawman also on the hunt for duo; and Dale Dickey (Winter’s Bone) as Cummie Barrow, Clyde’s mother.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television and executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (Steel Magnolias, The Bucket List, Oscar winner Chicago), Bonnie & Clyde follows Barrow, Parker and the rest of the notorious Barrow Gang as they sweep through the Central United States committing small-time robberies and daring bank heists, leaving a slew of murdered police officers and civilians in their wake. Bonnie & Clyde was written by John Rice and Joe Batteer (Windtalkers, Blown Away) and is directed by two-time Oscar nominee Bruce Beresford (Tender Mercies, Breaker Morant). Beresford is best known for directing Driving Miss Daisy.

Bonnie & Clyde recounts the fascinating tale of the couple whose crime spree enraptured the American public. Rumored to have a sixth sense which allowed him to see events before they happened, Barrow was always able to stay one step ahead of the law as he and Parker escaped capture time and time again. His one blind spot was Parker, who was intent on becoming famous. She fed on the alluring media attention and pushed Barrow to commit riskier, more dangerous crimes to generate bigger headlines and make them the most famous criminals of the modern era."

I am curious to see if they stick with historical facts for this.

It's possible, but the phrase "based on", the mention of P.J. Lane (a fictional character, as far as I know), and the omission of W.D. Jones (who ran with the Barrow gang for approximately eight and a half months) lead me to believe it won't be entirely factual. And the comments about Parker being "intent on becoming famous," and how she "pushed Barrow to commit riskier, more dangerous crimes to generate bigger headlines and make them the most famous criminals of the modern era," make me think the production will play up on the "romanticized" image of the couple that was so prevalent in newspaper articles published during their days on the run (an image that couldn't have been further from the truth).

By the way, IMDb.com lists the "release date" as December 2, 2013, so I'd guess we'll start seeing television ads for this some time around mid-November.

That's what I am afraid will happen. I miss the old History channel...you know the one that would actually stick with historic facts.

I watched the trailer on TV last night and the clothles and hats looked cheap and wrong. This will be a hard one to watch for me. I will be saying Oh my god look at that stupid hat that guy is wearing. While watching.:D

I find at least that maybe some facts will be in it.
The scene with the fire in the car.
Not many know that Bonnie was burned to the point that Clyde had to carry her most places she went.
She did hop, but she never was able to walk correctly.

Yes, but we have to counter-balance that with what appears to be Bonnie wielding a shotgun inside of a bank while threatening, "Don't mess with Bonnie and Clyde!" :eusa_doh: To my knowledge she was never a direct participant in any of the robberies.

I'll reserve judgement until after I've seen it, but I'm guessing there will be a good deal of fiction among the "facts".

Very true...I do hope it has more facts than the '67 movie.

Here is a article by WD Jones...its pretty good.

Thanks for posting that, Rusty.

This tendency of ours to glamorize criminality and gunplay really needs a reality check. I say "ours" because I include myself in that number. I'm fascinated by Prohibition and Depression era gangsters and robbers (and more recent ones), too, just as youngsters these days glorify their swaggering "ganstas." But it's a miserable life, and often a short one. And the characters are usually quite stupid, too. Those rare smart crooks are the ones you never hear about.

Was going to mention this myself. ;)

For facts, I recommend a great book (VERY historical accounts) called "Go Down Together" about the duo & the rest of the gang. Fascinating read. I found it most interesting to learn a lot of what happened took place in the DFW area.
