Just back from a visit to Aero, where I was lucky enough to have a quick look at the pre-production designs for the new range. The final versions are under lock and key and probably armed guard, so my sobbing and pitiful pleas got no sympathy from Ken.

Having said that, Ken kindly showed me the new waistcoat that's coming. I've never worn a waistcoat in my life, but this is a thing of such exquisite beauty, subtlety and elegance that I ordered one right away, despite not even knowing the final price. I reckon it'll be a big seller to those in warmer climates and the good news is that it sounds like they'll be on a relatively quick turnaround to catch the summer.

I like that one.
Van...?
I like that one ;-)
It's got a fine 30s vibe going on.
Might be tempted in the right hide at the right price...
What's the link with the OP waistcoat? Is this not more akin to a Cossack or Heron?

The OP describes a vest?? The above photo can't be what he was referencing.. That said, I would be very interested in something like this, a dead ringer for the LVC Menlo...

It is lovely, yes. But I think the vest is kinda interesting as it's not something we've heard about.

what sort of backing does the waistcoat have? Buttons?

The brown pre-prod I tried on had a leather back, but the final version will have tweed instead. If the 38" pre-prod comes up for sale and you have a max 38" chest (it's a tight design), I'd say it's a great buy, as I thought it was good to go. It was interesting to see Ken literally stitching the final tweed/hide version together as we spoke.

Hopefully the tweed gives room for customisation, as I chose a purplish tweed to go with the cordovan FQHH front.

The buttons I saw were brown football on the brown waistcoat, but as I'm getting cordovan and they don't do cordovan football buttons, I might end up with flat, which is ok with me.

Ken finished it off while I was there. When I left, he was wearing it!!:D;)

sounds promising. I'm a 38 but I'd surely be too tall for that one. This is gonna be an exciting month
