New Aero Teamster in tobacco badalassi

Back in August I bought 2 jackets during the Aero sale; I unfortunately had to return both due to fit reasons. This was disappointing, on the other hand it gave me enough credit for a brand new jacket.
I knew I wanted a Teamster; having already 3 FQHH and a Vicenza jacket I was looking for something relatively lightweight. Initially I was checking the battered horsehide but then some fellow Loungers started talking about the Badalassi option in Aero.
Long story short: last week I received my Teamster in Badalassi tobacco; it is lined with blue herringbone tweed. The leather is by far the lighter I've owned; shiny, quite smooth and relatively stiff. The lining makes it probably warmer than my Alpaca lined Mariner.
I'm posting some photo's, shoot with my mobile, they do not do justice to the colour, depth and texture of the leather.

Very nice indeed. I'm increasingly tempted by something like this. There's just something wonderful about the simple elegance of this style - sort ofl ike the HWM, but from a couple of decades earlier. I associate jakcets like this with working men, Socialist volunteers in Spain, French resistance... I n only imagine I've watched lot of a certain kind of film...

For some reason I like more the longer styles, though I am a sort guy... I tend to wear more my Mariner, my LHB and I guess this new jacket than my shorter jackets, especially since the weather here allows it.

When it gets a little chillier and vreezier, there is something to be said for a jacket that's less of a bum-freezer!

That’s a nicely spec’ed jacket and the leather looks like the finest midweight option Aero’s got on offer atm. From the look of it, Badalassi supersedes Vicenza by a long shot. They need to add at least a black option though.

That’s a fine looking Teamster and a very nice fit too. Can you tell us more about the hide? You said it’s a lighter weight than you’re others but you mentioned it’s stiffness, how stiff are we talking? Do you think it’s going to break in and soften easily or remain a little on the stiff side?

The Badalassi looks very impressive in your photos.

This is also what I think, Vicenza was more supple and thicker but did not have such a colour depth.

It is definitely stiffer than the Vicenza but I think it will break in easily. Now it can almost stand on it's own. It is quite cold here these days so I haven't worn it a lot. I'll keep you updated!

There was a time, I think around 2016-17 where Aero had some amazing batches of Vicenza. I think even Carrie at Thurston commented that they changed the specification or something. Today I feel Vicenza has much flatter colors and little grain variation. Today I much prefer their Badalassi options from the jackets that has come through lately.

Some examples from the 2016 era on this page:

I am not familiar with the newer batches of vic but I own a Happy Days in black vicenza made in June 2016. Every panel has a different variation of grain, from flat smooth to really grainy.
