Ton, did you really sell v3.0 after only a month of ownership? Why?! Is v4.0 under construction?

I can't fault any of the three versions other than nitpicking on my personal preferences. I'd take the color of number 2 With the more minimalist sleeves of number 3. Now to convince myself I can pull of that look:D:D

My problem and my approach, I would say until quite recently, is that the enemy of something great is the hope for something better. I am also extremely impulsive and impatient. And Willy is partially right. The thrill of the hunt is tantalizing to me.

As far as letting #3 go, I loved the fit but found the hide itself to be lackluster. But tbh, no, there is no good reason for giving up any one of the three or frankly God knows how many jackets in general over the years.

Hey! Creating these jackets and letting them go for some other guy to enjoy is a great public service in my eyes. More cool stuff for everybody to enjoy.

Yes. Indeed. A true humanitarian. LOL. To give and not count the cost. To toil and not to seek reward, save that of knowing I do His work. Or something along those lines. I do know where all my bootleggers are. They found good homes!

I guess @ton312 actually enjoys more the thrill of creating the details and waiting for a new jacket than wearing it. That's the lesson I learned here.

It's actually exactly that. To be honest, I don't think I enjoy wearing any of my jackets any more than I do looking at them. I mean, not more than I'd enjoy wearing, well, whatever else. I know it's not really doing anything for me. Doesn't make me look better, that's for sure, nobody notices and nobody cares, really (and that's okay) and the priciest leather jacket I ever had didn't do a whole lot more than the cheapest one. If even as much.

I love jackets - or clothes in general. Denim, leather, wool... Beautiful things. That's why I actually prefer just the idea of a new leather jacket more than the actual thing. Once I see it... Doesn't matter much to me whether it's on me or in the wardrobe.

That applies equally to me as well, and probably to most of the regulars around here
Some guys do breeze through here on their way to creating the perfect Aero, Thedi, Langlitz, at Cetera, and once they get that jacket we never see them again. Those are the guys who may actually have found their grail jacket, or at least a jacket that comes close enough and then they move onto other things.
For the rest of us, it is absolutely an endless quest and once the jacket that we have put so much time and energy into arrives we are already itching to start in on the next one.

The hide looked amazing, but perhaps you just applied a nice filter to your photos? :D

We’re extremely similar in terms of jacket size- and I would have purchased this one from you in fact! Please let me know when you’re selling versions 4-10!

I’m genuinely thinking of ordering something very similar- how did you find mobility in this beast? The ability to raise my arms is desirable...

It's been an interesting journey for me. Prior to 2010, the only "quality" leather jacket I had tried out was a Vanson, and I thought most of them to be too expensive at that time. Then in 2013, I walked into Thurston Brothers store in Seattle (intending on a Vanson) and met something called an Aero Leather jacket. It was all downhill from there! :)

In all truth & honesty, this hobby, similar to fine watches, automobiles and even a sport such as autocrossing, is one that must be experanced in person to appreciate fully. I could have stared at photos and videos of Aero's and many other high quality jackets online and never observed much, if any of the appeal. Instead, I got the full in person senses of these in the trip, and a year later I bought my first one (a Steerhide CR, which is back in Seattle now). I am one, as are many folks on here, who appreciates quality you can see, feel, and smell. It's also why jackets such as lambskin, which are billed as light and soft right off the rack, have no real appeal to me.

That said, Tony's BL #3 is breaking in rather well. Photos are overdue, and I'll see what I can obtain soon.

My advice is simple: Tony needs to eat a lot of cheeseburgers and also bench press heavy sets 3-4x per day. Once his chest measures 48 he needs to stop and have a couple of jackets made. This is pure altruism on my part. I just want him to be happy. And be my size.
