It definitely needs extra length at the very least - it feels completely wrong wearing it this length. Should it be a fairly straightforward process getting that sorted out with Aero - judging by their response to me they don’t seem entirely convinced that it doesn’t fit me well, surely if Im not happy I should be able to send it back for a remake?

Having to pull the straps up isn't unusual, I have to on all of mine, they were meant to be worn with shearling trousers in the first place. That said it does look too short for you at the moment, so I'd also say down a size with a bit of length may work, but how's it feel in the chest, shoulders at the moment, if a good fit then sizing down may not help.

When i see issues with fit on jackets based on military patterns that were service issue items, i like to amuse myself by imagining some aircrew guy in WW2 taking his jacket back to the QM because the back was a bit short or there was an extra inch in the waist and getting the option of taking the jacket or having no jacket at all. A check of vintage photos of aircrew and pilots from WW2 reveals very few if any jackets worn to the sizing and fit we want to wear them in 2019.While the jacket in the pictures is on the generous side, thats largely due to the pattern. On a positive note, im pretty sure it will get resolved with Aero, i would second getting it tapered a size down at the bottom.

Yeah, but I’ll bet none of them personally ordered and chose between colours, or spent £800 of their own money on them either haha. I would hope that having done so gives me a bit of sway over how the finished product comes out. I hope I can get is resolved with Aero ASAP - the weather certainly is getting colder!

The overall fit in the shoulders, arms and upper torso is great - I just wish it were longer and not so wide at the waist - hell even just longer would be great. Worth pointing out at this juncture also that, my specific fit issues aside, it is an stunningly beautifully made jacket - absolutely lovely in every way

the Aero B3 seemed to be a tapered cut to me when I had mine. Definitely definitely NOT a trapezius shape. So I am truly curious how the waist can be so big??

Personally, I would not be happy with that. When I ordered my D1, I had TB give me a trim fit. Maybe it's not possible with a B3 cut.

That is an interesting shearling, pretty far from being a D-1 though.

....I had them leather cuff the ends and take the zippers off the pockets. Otherwise, it's the D1 pattern.

In my B6, the shearling ends got kind of ratty looking.

Excellent idea, and beautiful result! The shearling cuffs always get thin and ratty looking. During the war an additional shearling cuff was sewn on (I've seen many pics of this, so it was very common), but your idea of a leather cuff is an excellent idea!

Wow! That’s the best looking version of one of these I’ve seen. Still looks trim but plenty warm I’m sure. I’m not a fan of the fuzzy cuff. Looks better this way imho. Very cool jacket.
