Ok a few years back my grandmother gave me this hat, she said my grandfather purchased this a long time ago when he was stationed in San Diego with the marines. She said and you can see it’s never been worn nor taken out of the box till now. I really don't know anything about it, I'm looking to find some info about it and its value, and sell it to make some money for my wedding coming up. Any info would be greatly appreciated, and again it is for sell E-mail me with any questions you might have.

7 1/2 is a good size, so that and the condition will help the price, but I'm afraid stingy brims don't usually go for a lot of money. Although stingy brims are currently in style, folks who are into current fashion are mostly getting cheap modern hats. If they know enough about the quality that can be found in vintage hats they've got tons of 1960s era hats to choose from at nice low prices. They guys that really like vintage hats usually go for older styles wider brims, 2 1/2" and larger. Even with the box I'd be surprised if you can get $60 out of it, and given that it's a family heirloom I would hang onto it for a while, who knows, in 20 years the guys who are wearing stingy brims right now may be clamoring for and fighting over hats like this, but at the moment there just isn't that much of a market for them.

Personally I wish I could wear a stingy brim because there really are a lot of beautiful hats out there, but they happen to look silly on me. My son is the beneficiary of the current stingy glut, because he looks great in a stingy. He has some beautiful hats for a 14 year old boy.
