Need Help identifying this Jacket

I found this jacket of Ebay and loved it. If I was going to build a Car Coat type leather jacket, this jacket is how I would design it, except I would use buttons versus a zipper. I wanted to buy this jacket, but atlas it was 1 or 2 sizes too small.

It got me to thinking, I'd like to search for another jacket like this but bigger. My problem is I don't know what this style of jacket is named. I started looking under Car coat and come up with jacket that are close, but either don't have the pocket configuration or the back 3 panel design correct. Does any one know if there is a better name to search for this jacket or where I can find some in a size 42 or 44?

Thanks
Jason

Go to Aero and have a look around. There should be something similar there.

Here is another Californian in horse that is a size 40. It is a straight A-2 jacket style, and not as long as the HH coat you looked at.

That's funny, because thats exactly what I thought too. I looked on their site first, but nothing fit exactly. I ran into the same problem, with the jackets having some of the feature, but usually missing on the 3 piece back design without a belt, or the exterior pocket configuration didn't match up?

I should think Aero would be open to adapting a design close to what you want. Do you have a picture of the back of that jacket?

Peacoat,
By god I think that's it exactly as far as I can tell. Thanks. Some how I missed that one. I'll try searching for a '"Cheyenne" and see how that goes. Thanks

Well I've tried searching using '"Cheyenne" and it didn't work well. I mostly got leather jackets that have the leather strings hanging off the sleeve, like a American Indian type jacket.

I looked at Lost Worlds and they have something similar to what I'm looking for called a "Downtown Car Coat"

Any other suggestion of better names to search for the style of jacket I'm after?

to check all of Aero's jackets go to aeroleatherclothing.com and click on the heading near the top left "Aero Leather" and you will get the full range of their utility jackets also check out their sale/used/vintage section which may have something to interest you!

The Cheyenne isn't the name of that style of coat, but the name Aero gave its coat of that style. Not sure what the style would be. If you look on eBay long enough, one will pop up that was made by Aero, using the name Cheyenne.

I was just having this conversation with Amanda at Aero. Take the Long Half Belt and add Mariner length (standard 31"). Drop the pockets, add two Barnstormer hand warmer pockets, and do whatever you want to the back. I added two half-belts attached by buttons to the false half belt in back and buckling in front. You're right: there aren't enough car coats out there.

That's a great idea, I never thought about taking parts from other jackets & making a brand new jacket. Is there a program that allows you to mix & match jacket parts to see what it would look like?

The coat you described, is it just a idea you had or is it a jacket you had built? I'd love to see a picture if possible?
