Do not know how I got this hat, but I am interested in restoring it, if it's worth it. If anyone could tell me more about this hat, whether they believe it is authentic and worth salvaging that would be great. Also any tips as to how to do that as well, the brim seems a bit messed up but I really can't tell as I don't know how the hat originally looked. I have already taken a lint roller to it and it looks worlds better.

Thanks in advance.

Sweet little lid there, Mr. Kein, and welcome!

Sure, it's a keeper. I'm sure the lint roller made a difference. You'll be delighted with what a proper brushing will do! Get a new shoe polishing brush, go counter-clockwise on top and clockwise on the underside. If it needs more TLC beyond that, I know a guy...

The inside of that hat looks very clean!

I have seen that there is a Resistol "Lawton" style hate, but it looked more like a cowboy hat than a fedora, but that could be my lack of knowledge.

It has a Resistol-style tag because it was made in the same factory in Garland, TX, as Resistol. This one dates to the 1980s to perhaps 2000 or so. I'm not well-versed on the distinctions between the modern labels, so can't really narrow it more than that.

Thanks Brad! I am curious as to why I am not able to find more info online if it only dates back 20-30 years (wow, sounds a lot longer when you type it out).
