I just found an AWESOME barber...this guy knows what he's doing! He did a great job on my hair cut...very clean and old fashioned. The only problem is that he (arrrrgh!) blocked off my neck line even though I told him to taper it. The problem is that he does not speak english very well and I just don't know that he understood what I mean. I figure that the best thing to do is take him a picture of what I want and show him the difference between a block and a taper (it's almost sad that I've had to learn as much as I have about barbering to get the hair cut that I like!). Do any of yall have a good picture of a block vs a taper that I might be able to show? Google images has not turned up anything that I might find useful other than a diagram, but I would prefer a picture. Do any of yall know of any other ways that I could communicate this to my new barber? Thank you! :D

Tapered neckline

You mean a cut where the hair is shorter and shorter towards the bottom until it's basically nothing, right?
Other terms he might know: Bald fade, a taper, a fade, one or two others I can't think of. Tapered fade maybe. It depends on what era he learned his cuts.

update

well, folks I went in for another hair cut today and he nailed it! Exactly the perfect hair cut. For the first time in a looooong time my hair is cut exactly how I want it with a flawless taper in the back. I could not find one adequate picture online, so I photoshopped a couple of them together and came up with the following picture. I don't think I could have gotten it any clearer... The word he used for a taper was "a natural". He basically said "Oh, you want a natural in the back?" Either way, I'm glad he got it just right and now it looks great!
