I hear ya koop.

With every dollar you spend you cast a vote for the type of world you want--I can't remember who said that, but in this case, its totally true.

I will NOT be buying this book, avid reader as I am. I hope (okay, I KNOW) that there are folks here who will do the same.

Cheers

Bottom line, it's just disrespectful. Regardless if he did it or not, it's seems like he is flaunting it in everyone's face... it shows a lack of common sense and decency.

OJ is a skunk. Even if he did not do it -- and he was found not guilty in due process of the criminal justice system-- writing such a book and making such a statement... he is taunting us. Laughing at us. He may as well have titled it "SUCKERS!"

Not to mention the fact that he has children with this woman. If he doesn't have respect for the families of the victims, at the very least he should pretend to muster up a little respect for his children.

There seemed to be alot of anger and head scratching on FoxNews over the book..but,moreso,with the announcement that the TV movie will star OJ. But...you know, multitudes will be glued to the set to see it. Either to observe OJ make more of an ass out of himself...or just curiosity with his outrageous re-acting of the details.:(

Our crazy world

Unfortunately, the publishers are achieving exactly what they set out to do; keep OJ in the public eye, get sensational publicity and make money. Like they say, no publicity is bad publicity and being repulsed by the concept is just what they want. They want a reaction period. It makes us think about it and discuss it endlessly. So much so that some of us become curious and go buy the book. Then others buy it so they can get firsthand knowledge, even if it is nonsense.
For me, the best way I can show my disgust and escape their marketing grasp is to ignore it completely. Going forward I won't discuss it or acknowlegde it existence.

Yawwwwwn. Ho hum. Another pop-culture pile of garbage to avoid (not really avoid, you know, since i never come like anywhere near pop culture these days anyway, but ... you know, like ummm, like this is like, soooo boring [all said of course with incredibly irritating rising inflection]).

I decided back in 1995 that there were few things on this earth that were less worth my time or consideration in any way than O. J. Simpson. Nothing that's happened in the years since has given me any reason to reconsider that conclusion.

I couldn't agree more.

The title is what gets me. I understand publicity and the need to create sensationalism, but it does poke fun at the justice system. Since the double jeopardy clause prevents him from being retried after a verdict, he can publish this book without fear of going back to court. I'm not saying that the double jeopardy clause should be done away with, but as a law student, I'm aware of its faults. The fact that people make a mockery of the system constantly is distasteful, to say the least. And with that, I will stop giving Mr. Simpson free publicity.

I think this is a great book. He can follow it up with "If I shot JFK" and then perhaps "If there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq..." etc.

Is this his way of handling the guilt via a deflected confession?

Either way it won't be worth buying as you might as well read the police investigation.;)

That's funny since FoxNews is owned by the same company/person that owns Regan, the book's publisher.[huh]
