That was a cracking film, Alcatraz. Especially interesting that they managed to make them engaging protagonists, without writing off that they were Very Naughty Men who had Done Bad Things. It's not hard to get your audience on side when you're talking about Allied POWs escaping the Nais, but hardened criminals.... It's still a fascinating case, not least because there's so much we don't know for sure - not even whether they made it. (Even if they probably drowned, there's always a chance...).
