Mystery label

Anybody recognize this label? It was on a tailcoat at Goodwill tonight that I took to be from at least the '30s, maybe earlier. It had the sans-buttonhole boutonniere holder arrangement that Ray showed on one of his coats long ago, where you stick the stem between the collar and lapel. It also had little vestigial faux buttonholes on the fronts of the coat next to the buttons, which I'd never seen before. Pick stitching on the satin lapels, too. It was small and there were no trousers, so I left it. Just curious who the manufacturer may have been.

My guess is that it originally read "The House of Kuppenheimer". Based on your description, I'd say that it's from the 'teens.

Nope. But I'm hoping that my "street cred" will help a local shirtmaker to sell some spear point collar dress shirts that I've had a hand in designing.
