My Steve McQueen cardigan(s) - This time in heavy cashmere made by White of Hawick

Nice sweater, Jan. I purchased my first cardigan this year, which is nowhere near as nice!

I might add that I find yours preferable to Pitt's: Pitt's does not seem to have front pockets or leather-wrapped buttons, and I like how yours buttons up higher.

The 12-ply sweaters Tomasso has look delectable... unfortunately, the price does not.

Thanks Philalethes. I just showed the Pitt cardigan to illustrate the connection between Claxton's book and contemporary costume design/fashion. Pitt's jumper (presumably made by Soviet Science) is closer to the heavy cardigan I purchased from Black Sheep last year. That one is incredibly heavy and cannot be worn during summer or late spring...

The Steve McQueen (and yours as well) look great, really - specially regarding the buttons. As I spent a sabbatical in England last year I had the opportunity of buying some cardigans at the Edinburgh Woollen Mill ( online at http://www.ewm.co.uk/ ) and am very happy with them. Just one note - the collar looks great on Steve and you, but personally it is not my choice for cardigans...

What an exciting thread! I think the White of Hawick jacket is a nicer design and worth the extra effort to seek out. I bought my current favorite sweater in Hawick ("hoyk") when I bicycled there in the 90's. Thanks to the people past and present of the Fedora Lounge for opening my eyes to the potential of a really great cardigan.

Not wishing to derail, but this camel hair cardigan is pretty nice as well. Quality is excellent and the staff do know their product. Any thoughts on camel hair?

So far, Steve McQueen hasn't been on my radar when it came to fashion. But since my interest in M43-boots and this thread, I think I must do an image-search on him. So far, I was more taken in by the early Robert Redford style.
