My S. Willis horsebutt wallet after 4 months of everyday wear

Hello everybody,

here are some pics of my veg tanned horsebutt wallet after 4 months of everyday (front pocket) wear. As you can see the leather has darkened a wee bit and it has developed a great amount of typical HH grain. I've given the entire wallet a thin coat of Barbour's wax to make the panels a little more flexible. When it arrived it was incredibly stiff due to the veg tanning and the super thick and dense HH.
The wallet ages very nicely, and the clear powder coating on the concho and the heavy duty stitching don't show ANY signs of wear. This wallet is truly made to last a lifetime. I don't see any differences in quality between the ridiculously expensive RedMoon range and S. Willis' products (70 Dollars shipped/Summer '10)). In fact I prefer the slightly mottled, hand dyed finish over the industrial finish on RedMoon wallets.

What do you think?

A lovely wallet. I saw your original post about it when it was new and I wondered... how much are you using the coin pocket on it? I know Hankh showed his similar wallet on your original post but he has a separate coin purse.

Nice- looking wallet. Size and proportion look pretty good for front pocket use, as well.

Thanks everybody. Yes, the proportions are ideal for front pocket use. The wallet isn't especially small, but due to the stout proportions it wears well.

The coin pouch works well but I have to admit that I have a big jar at home were all the silly little copper coins go. I empty the coin pouch regularly and only the bigger coins stay in.

The stitching is pretty elevated and industrial. To such an extent that the coin purse stitching has impregnated/impacted /discoloured the other (inner) side of the wallet once the buttocks pressure has been applied...:D
