Here's the other leather I snagged on my recent trip to Gala.
A lovely 38-1711P A2, in a leather that has to be touched to really appreciate it. This stuff is just velvety soft, whilst still being very substantial hide. It is described as Jerky Russet Steer.
Ken said he currently only had enough hide for one more jacket. I hope he gets some more soon - an A1 would be astounding in this stuff.
Ken has an original A2 in the showroom that is not a million miles from this.....
Too tight/short for many folks, but for me, the perfect "wartime" cut (yes, I know there were ALL fittings in WW2, but as I said "for me").
Here's the only bit that I have HWTed, the collar. The rest is just SO soft and drapy, I don't want to do anything to it. HWT would harden it some.
And finally, a little close up of the hide.....
