My Newest Treasures - Waterfall Style Lane Cedar Chest

I am so happy, I'm jumping up and down clapping!

And it almost matches my nightstand that I've been carting around with me every move for years now... [I love it even though it's pretty beat up]

Here she is:

My grandmother, who recently passed, has one of these that has the tag still inside also. My wife wants it really bad. For me the neat thing is that the date is Feb. 1940. I believe it was a wedding present for Grandpa and Grandma from their 1939 wedding.

I have the same cedar chest. It must have been a very popular model. It belonged to my grandmother and it still has the tags inside of it as well. I keep my blankets in it.

They say that smell is connected to memory and nothing transports me back in time to being a little girl at my grandmother's house faster than the scent of a blanket that's been stored in a cedar chest.

(I also haev a very similar nightstand! :) It's the same design, but mine has celluloid handles and an urn design decal-ed on the door.)

When we opened ours up we found a lot of towls, table clothes etc. but in the tray attached to the lid we found my grandparents report cards, yearbooks and other school related material from the 1920's. Amazing stuff!

Ill post some pics of it when we get it home in a couple weeks.
