You were correct in your usage. The cited reference is not complete in listed definitions for this particular term. I might have been a real little kid, but I remember some of the slang used in the 60's by the full grown adults: you know, 15 year old's!

:)

Sorry to be a flap jaw and drift off topic. Back to the jacket.

That's a good looking jacket and the fit is spot on. Just needs a bit of breaking in and the collar shaping and it'll be perfect. I've always held off ordering a cordovan jacket because all the talk of it bleeding purple on your clothes, have you experienced any if that at all yet?

Really nice fit there! I never considered the wayfarer as I thought it looked a bit busy but seeing it actually worn, it looks great, no issues at all.

Cooperson, my tumbled cordovan jacket doesn't bleed. It may rub off a little colour if you really get some friction gaining against a lighter coloured item but nothing from normal wear, only when I've been specifically testing for bleeding.

Its an amazing colour in person on an actual jacket and not just a sample sized piece.

Not on black.

Congratulations on a stunning jacket!!
This is the one in the current Aero catalogue that has my interest the most.
Really wanted to see it being worn as although I do really like the style, I was mildly concerned that the front design may have come across as a little 'country & western'.
Fear not, it looks brilliant!
Thanks for sharing.

Maybe a little, but it's very similar, almost claret-coloured. It can be tricky to find shoes that match: I have a pair of Horween desert boots that come close, and Aero's Jarrow marcher boots are pretty much on the nail.

Actually, its easier to find matching shoes than you might think. I have Tricker's, Lennon's and Grenson's, all in burgundy and all a damned good match.

I wouldn't bother with the Grenson's though, as the leather is clearly inferior. Lennon's are cheaper and better quality, but rougher looking.

No, Tricker's aren't cheap, but they're definitely higher quality and when you add factory resoling into the equation, they'll last a long time.

The nice thing about them is that different shops do short exclusive runs in different colours, with weirdo sole combinations. I got a green pair of Stow's with orange soles, which certainly draws the eye.

Thanks for sharing. This is a really sharp looking jacket - hoping my fits and looks that good! It has been very helpful to see a "real life" jacket. Honestly, it was scary (maybe crazy) to order the Wayfarer without having seen photos other than those on the website, which are difficult to judge as they float on the page without reference. Thanks again and congratulations!

Very nice jacket. We should all be so fortunate to hit a home run with a first-at-bat!

I believe that you can pretty much wear any color of shoes with your jacket- that's the advantage of cordovan.

Trickers are really nice indeed. I might go for some when I next have money; if you keep an eye on sales, they can be found at more human prices. I've only had good experiences with Grenson myself, though. Barker too. My favourite shoes to wear with my cordovan are a pair of burgundy Barkers.

I'm not so struck on pairing it with most browns, but black works.
