Well, after emailing the seller a million times and trying unsuccessfully to call a phone number, I filed a complaint through Paypal and they recovered about 2/3 of my cost. They said that is as much as Ebay covers and that they will do everything they can to get the seller to re-embuse me the remaining amount. Sheesh. Some people. And they're here in California too! If they were in a state that had hurricane trouble I would have understood. Oh well. No more bidding on items from sellers with 0 feedback. Bad mistake on my part.

Still want my phonograph though.

Update on the not yet over Phonograph issues.

The seller contacted me today to let me know she was in the hospital and is now able to ship the item! I feel bad because I left negative feedback and filed with Paypal, but who would have known? I am really excited that it looks like I'm going to be getting it after all

Oh boy, that old story, you know Lauren people can use excuses to try and pawn off the responsibility. If she was sick in the hospital, she should have had a friend or family member shoot off an e-mail telling you the situation. Some sellers are bogus and I feel you did the right thing. Maybe this seller will now realize that she can?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t just disappear when she?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s conducting an auction. I see that she is a new seller and you were the first buyer. In the future, you can find out a seller?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s history and see what other buyers said about their business transactions.

When I find something I like on Ebay, I always try and look at their feedback history. You?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ll learn a lot by doing so and it will save you heartache in the long run. To bad in this case it was their first auction and there is no history to read.

For your sake I hope she makes good on the deal and that you end up with your phonograph! But, by no way feel bad because some one should have contacted you earlier.
