This would scare me.

Wait to get it and post photos, we'll tell ya if it needs fixin'. My self, I have a few caps that have a hole here or there... no bid deal. If the liner is missing or in bad shape, who cares, no one will really see it and if it is indeed vintage, keep it that way I say, those caps weren't designed to be very fancy, mostly work caps they were... unless we're talkin' golf but this looks like it could be kinda neat!

What worries me is that they called it a 1940s Derby Cap... lol but, it says that it may be from the 50s or 60s... looking at it close you can tell it's not as full bodied as the earlier caps.

Lookin' forward to seein' some photos!

I usually buy hats that are brand new, but this is particularly true when it comes to caps (felt is a slightly, only slightly, different story).

I've honestly got my fingers crossed for you on this one!;)

I've bought used tweed caps. I like the savings - and I think GranadaGuy bought this one fairly well. When I get one home, I like to put them in the freezer over night to snuff out any potential cooties before wearing them. I learned this tip here on the Lounge. Otherwise, "honest wear" doesn't bother me at all.

To quote Michaelshane quoting Hemingway:

A gun is better worn and with the bloom off- so is a saddle- people too by God.

Might be true for caps.

Ebay buys are always a bit of a crap shoot.

IT HAS ARRIVED!

Well, its a flat panel cap, I really really like how it seems to sag to the side just right! The condition is to me 100% no stitching it coming out, everything seems kosher. The lining is black silk it looks like, the sweat band feels like rayon. Its got a really great Union tag too!
