Amanda kindly sent me a sample of their goat and it's fantastic stuff but sadly the hides aren't big enough for the jacket that I am ordering so I'm going with the black CXL steer.

But if I was getting a shorter jacket I wouldn't hesitate a heartbeat to order the goat, stunning stuff.

Just reviewing a few pages of the threads I've missed over the past month ... came across yours Gancho, and I must say well done on the jacket (it's a winner) - and the combo you put together around it. That's a good and individual look you have there, Sir. I like it.
Enjoy the jacket!

Sorry Don, that I forgot to tuck the shirt. I promise that will enver happen again, looks silly :eeek:

Thank you too, Stand By. Sometimes I afraid of looking a little bit indisguise, specially when I remember that I'm no more 25.

Enjoy the last day of 2013!

Hi Seb,

of course you are right. This thing with the tucked out shirt is a running gag since a long time, that pop up from time to time.

"To tuck or not to tuck, that is the question", to paraphrase The Bard.
I, myself, am a tucker (comes from my military background).

Jacket looks fantastic! THAT is the important thing.

I do both! For business, for sure, i tuck. In leisure time the shirt is mostly untuck, but depends on the shirt. I have shirts that look ugly when untuck, others when tucked.

Happy new year!

Of course, my remark was more in line with the aforementioned running gag, mostly anyway. On the other hand, you're wearing all this nice stuff, pants, jacket, cap, nice shoes to boot, and then this white-and-green checkered thing lurks out in between and destroys all the positive impression...

TUCK IT!!

:D

BTW, I'm eying a "Roadster", modified with button-cuffs. I'll order it when I keep from smoking until April. ;)

Dam you Gancho!! The seal goat in your pics looks so inviting. I've been thinking about something in their black goatskin (probably a halfbelt but maybe a simmons bilt) for the past few months now but this thread has me questioning my judgement and reassessing the seal

Very nice lining on this one you got too. Well played

Hi Don,

good plan for the new year! Then you can go for 3 new jackets a year, perfect.

gancho

Hi Gancho,

thanks, got 5 weeks already under my belt ;). I'm not planning to burn all the proceedings on jackets, though. Anyway, the fit of yours convinces my to order at Alexander's next time. Beautiful piece you got!

Gancho, very stylish indeed, my man. Have to say, it's enough to make me want to go over to the other side – Alexander's. How does the goat compare with the horse?

But, fella, I can't believe you wear essentially the same size jacket as me but are 5cm taller.

Wow, Gancho,

I'm glad the pictures turned out so well. What can I say...great jacket, perfect fit and superb overall attire. Good you went with Will and Amanda's advice regarding the fit.

To all forumers: I've handled the jacket in person and it really is a stunner. Janet really has some remarkable skill. Seams, details and finish are awesome!

Thank you, Schitzo. I'm sure the seal goat will get nicer and nicer with some wearing.

Don, 5 weeks! Than you can order the first sleeve :D

Sir, yes Sir! I own 5 Aero's and i love them all, but the Alexander is a little bit better. It is more dressiness and the craftmanship is finer.

Jan visited me just a day after receiving the jacket. Here a picture of Jan and me in Hamburg.

Great photo Gancho! Haven't seen too much of Jan lately, he helped me with some jacket advice last year.

Wow, Alexander Leather even has product videos.

Gancho, is the goat as nice as FQHH?

SJ

Hi SJ,

I can only talk of AL's goat from samples but Amanda sent me a sample as I'm getting a jacket through them and it's lovely stuff. TBH it's an entirely different beast (funny that!) from FQHH. My sample has a very typical pronounced goat grain, good lustre and appears to be extremely hard wearing. It's bulletproof but also very pliable. The hides aren't big enough for the jacket I'm getting so I'm going with the CXL steer but if I was after a shorter jacket I wouldn't hesitate, really beautiful hide.

But I'm sure Gancho can elaborate far more fully as he has a whole jacket in the stuff.

If you're planning something through AL (or any other maker for that matter) get some samples. Although I'm sure you've already jacking up to do just that.
