Hello all

Got this Alexander Half Belt heavy steer on friday. I love the jacket but wonder about the size. I got it at the outlet page so keep that in mind when judging on the size.

the jacket feels perfect on the shoulders and over the chest, put Iam wondering about the length. I wish it was a little longer, but is it stupid short. From my experience leather jacket the tend to get a little bigger with a little use, also this one is very stiff, so mabye it wil fall down a little when it softens up?

Her is some pics

Thanks for ant help and coments

IMO I would say it's about 1in short side for a Highwayman type jacket. Your cuffs come up a little short too judging from the pics, and they are only likely to get shorter as the arms wrinkle up.

Pretty small and pretty short IMHO ..... 1-2" sides and 1" in the sleeve ( these will shorten with wear ) ... chest looks neat .. but then I'm not a big fabn of tight leather jackets ( as many on here already know)

Sorry mate, I'd say 2 inches too short - I always think they need to sit an inch or two over the belt. But there are some folk here who like jackets short on the basis that they are "period correct". So if that helps, use it.

A bit too short for this style of jacket. Should be over the belt, I believe. Albeit, I don't think it looks bad on you at all, even though the duck doesn't seem to approve. Plus the size is spot on!

I agree with others about the length of a half belt should usually be longer. From the front, without noticing the half belt, it looks fine but the half belt is not where it should be. On the other hand, if it was a Highwayman with the strap at the bottom then it would have been great fit.

Probably not the best fit, but as you say it was a bargain. Keeping that in mind I think its not too bad and you should certainly wear it. It doesn't look terrible.. Now when you order your bespoke jacket you have a good reference for jacket & sleeve length, and pit to pit size etc.. Bottom line is, wear it for a while and when your ready I'm sure you can back at least half of what you paid from the classified pages.

Thanks for all the inputs. Since it will cost me 3 times as much to send it back and get a new one, i dont really know og that ince is worth it.
this is a heavy jacket, and i like the skin a lot. But i think if were to get a new one it would be lighter. So that its an extra reason to keep this one, that way i can get one more later. As long as i dont look like a folk wearing it. Sorry for any spelling errors, english is not ny first language and ny Phone keeps auto correct...

The front looks fine. It would be easier to judge the back with a shot of you from from straight on. Looking at the front though, I think this must be a pretty close run thing. IMO, when standing straight your belt at the back should just about be covered by the jacket. Some belt on show at the front is absolutely fine.

You should bear in mind also that the majority of commentators here like their jackets at least 2 inches longer than necessary. So 'needs another 2 inches' on these pages very often translates to 'the length is basically correct'

Just to add my 2c worth as well...

It's too short both in body and sleeve length for what I'd want. I reckon it'd be much better with 2'' on the body and an extra 1'' to 1.5'' on the sleeves.

There's nothing worse than a jacket which is too short, it ends up bugging the hell out of you and driving you round the twist.

Every jacket I've had so far that I had that "is it just a bit too short" niggle, I've ended up selling cause I just never got over it. If you can send it back, do it imo.
