Hello,
this morning we had have -8° C. With a wollen troyer under the B-6 no problem, still warm enough.

Great jacket...... especially the trim fitted look.... very neat from the back!!

Jepp slicker63, thanks for the comment, I like the trim fit, too. Does not look like Bibendum, the Michelin-Man.

Thanke to everyone joining the tread!

I'm getting very tempted by the idea of a B-6, and that is making it even more tempting. Heavy enough to be warm, but not over the top and unwearable.

There's times of the year you'll find the B6 ideal over here, though the last few years I've been in a B3 for most of the Winter (alternating this year with an Irvin). Certainly been cold enough for it recently!

True, definitely cold right now, but there really isn't that much of the year which warrants an enormously warm jacket.

Better to warm, than to cold!

I hate to freeze. The proposals for this winter are more B-3, Irving than B-6 or D-1. I know that a wellknown Lounger is thinking about B-7, the arctic parka....

I have to agree about not liking to be too cold. Usually, though, you can manage being too cold with better layering. Being too hot doesn't really have a solution other than removing the garment that's making you too hot.

Mind you, your winters in Germany may well be colder than I'm likely to see regularly here in the UK. I'm in the Midlands, and while it's damned cold at the moment, that's in the region of -1 to -5 Celsius during the day, and I'm very unlikely to be out in temperatures much below that.

I tend to wear mine from Mid Novemberish through to sometime into February, but then we all feel the cold differently, so that might well be too much for yourself.

I actually really fancy one of those B7s myself.... if it gets to be this cold on a regular basis every Winter....

Location probably has something to do with it as well. I'd guess that being in London you're probably outside more than I am if you're using public transport around town. Being out in the sticks here, if I want to go anywhere I have to drive there, so actually I'm probably not out in the cold as much as you'd think.

I should also add, the other reason that the B-6 appeals to me more than the B-3 is the extra length in the body. For my height I have short legs and a long body, so a shorter jacket is less appealing to me.

Makes sense!

It hadn't really occurred to me that there was a difference between the two length-wise. I suppose it makes sense, though, what with the B3 having been designed as the top half of a suit, while the B6 was an independent jacket on its own, as I understand it.

Sorry for digging up an old thread but ig Gancho is still around, can I ask the length of your B6 as it's the perfect length in my opinion. I have one in redskin on order and I've requested a 28 inch back length (I'm 6'3) and am hoping its a similar fit to yours.

Regards

Garry
