Jacket looks great Cole. That would last for 140 years with that hide. Can't wait to see how it ages and wears with time...and make no mistake, that FQHH can take a beating and come out looking even better. Enjoy.

The roomy cut of the Aero jackets has it's advantages. It offers enough room be worn over the Manduca, so I can carry our son around when we go out. :D

Hi Cole, I know this is an old thread but I'm in the process of working out the details for my own A2 and I have some questions regarding your 38-1711-p. Is this 2nd A2 a true 46, or a 44? Do you have an athletic build, e.g. broad shoulders & small waist? If so, how well does the jacket fit in the shoulders? Olli sold his 38-1711-p because it was too tight in the shoulders and had a new 38 built on the pattern of the Bronco as it's more suitable for athletic builds..

Hunh? Aero? Wha? (Worf wipes sleep from his eyes). What are you on about mate? Never had an A-2 from Aero. I've a GoodWear, US Authentic and several several lesser makes (Avirex etc...) but none from Aero. I've their Pre-War Irvin, LHB and Thunderbay.

The second one is a 44. I can't complain about the shoulders. The fit there is exelent. You can see some more pictures here.

I think my build is more on the athletic side of things. I'm 6' 1" with broad shoulders, a 43" chest and wear size 33 or 34 jeans, depending on the manufacturer.

My concern with my 38 is, that I find it to generous in the body, while the shoulders and the sleeve and body length is exactly as I wanted it. A size 42 with custom sleeve and body length migth fit more the way I want it.

I saw those pics numerous times (I do my research, haha) and your jacket is absolutely gorgeous... The fit in that picture is exactly what I'm going for. It really looks like an absolutely superb fit, but I know what it feels like when you'd want the jacket to fit just a bit tighter in the body.. Awful. From your specs and jacket size, I'd say a 42 in chest & shoulders and 40 from the chest down should work for me, with 26" sleeve length and 25.5" body length (same as my Highwayman). My chest measures ~42" and I'm 30.5" at the waist. But let's see what Holly has to say, she's the expert!

Have you worn the jacket a lot since your last post, and with it broken in a lot more since then? If so, could you pretty please put up some new pics? :D

I'll try to get some actual pictures of it, but right now it ain't exactly leather jacket friendly weather here with temperatures around 30° C and high humidity.

This was taken earlier this week, but is just a crappy iPhone shot.

The beard is looking AWESOME, Cole! So is the jacket, it's really starting to look a wellworn A-2 jacket that has seen many vistas. That patina, stunning...
