My "new" $8.49 Royal Stetson

I posted about this on another thread and Sharpetoys searched Ebay and found the auction. This is likely nothing really special, Royal Stetson, but it looks nice.
It's stiff enough, but soft, as I'm coming to like.

My uneducated guess is somewhere from the 1970s which is good enough for me. I'm not hardcore vintage, although I appreciate history, and would like to get, one day, the benchmark hats. I'm not able to at this moment and that's ok, too. Anyway, here are some pics. It's a tad bit darker in person than in this photo. The dark blue canopy on the swing that you see it sitting upon is also a bit darker in person.

I think it contrasts nicely with the lighter gray Borsalino. You get a better look at it's color in the last four photos, with the boys wearing it in the shade.

I haven't a clue about the hat's value, but it seems like you got a heck of a deal. That's a cute picture of your son without his front teeth. The new ones will grow in quickly, so keep snapping to record that once-in-a-lifetime event!

Hey Redpop, I have a Royal Stetson, just like this one, I think I paid about the same price for mine.

I gave mine a teardrop, pinched front crown and snapped the front brim down real low. It's the real deal.

Yeah, I'll bet it raises a few eBay sellers' eyebrows when they get his e-mails saying "I'm sorry but I can't PayPal you for the hat I just won until after school on Monday -- when my Mom gives me my allowance?!"
