my hat collection

I'm actually editing my 'Stetson Whippet' post from before.

OK, I put them all into an album. You can go here:

http://public.fotki.com/havershaw/

or try here:

http://www.imagestation.com/member/index.html?name=havershaw&c=201

and see it. I think.

or try this (you can click on any of this following text and it works. I don't know why):
<A HREF="http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4288162823"><IMG SRC="http://www.imagestation.com/images/is/community/this_album_button.gif"

Most of the colors, on this monitor anyway, look pretty close. I'll post some photos of the liners and such later on, if anyone cares enough to see them. For those of who to whom I've been talking about my Cavanagh to, you can see the little hole in the very top of the crown if you look carefully.

anyway, hope you all enjoy. I just updated the album with more accurate descriptions.

(apologies in advance for the stupid faces)

Well it looks like you tagged several photos under one image location...only do one at a time, but you can do multiple messages per post, just list the images separately with the IMG button.....

edits galore!

In case you haven't seen the top of this thread, I have editied the original post so you can see some photos of my hats. I don't know if it actually works or not yet. let me know if it's still screwy...once again, the link is

http://www.imagestation.com/member/index.html?name=havershaw&c=201

I think you hve to join. They claim they don't sell (or donate, for that matter) your email address to anyone. Guess it's safe. I don't know. I couldn't find another way to do it.

man, computers are awesome.
(add the appropriate amount of sarcasm to the above statement)

In regards to your linking problems, I highly recommend FOTKI PICTURE SERVICE. It's free, but to get your pictures to load up on another webpage it's $35 per year. If you just want to link pictures, you don't have to pay them anything.

Your photos of all those hats are spectacular. I wish some of mine looked that good...(ok they do  ).
I have a Royal Stetson that is a Fawn color which I just reshaped with a gentle steam...it rivals your Whippet.

You sir, are blessed with a great vintage collection. My hat is off to you sir!

.

coming from you, I am indeed honored sir.

For those who weren't able to get into the other place, I posted everything here:

http://public.fotki.com/havershaw/

There are two albums. 'hats and more hats' is just a general overview. There are more detailed photos of each hat (including liners) in the 'hat details' album, for those who are so inclined. But I haven't really put that one in any kind of an order yet, so be warned: it might be kind of random. there are captions and descriptions for most photos, though.

My wife is a very patient woman.

photos

the 'hats and more hats' album has been edited with good captions (by that I mean captions which actually make sense) and I put all of the detail photos in a second album. enjoy.

*whew*

I've been messing with these hat photos for the better part of six hours!!!

Havershaw..great collection. I'm particularly interested in the Wynewood. Where was it from? Where produced I mean? Was it the Wynewood hat co? Great profile with a modified "C" block and good kick.
Tell us what you can about them?

Thanks for the kind words, all. You guys all helped a lot, believe me.

Art, I don't know much about the Wynewood. Howver, here are some photos of the liner:

I got it on eBay, and the sellers said it came from an estate sale and didn't know much about it either.
That's probably among my favorite of the hats. I know a lot of these hats have Indy-esque bashes on them, and maybe that's why i like the uniqueness of the crown on that. most of those hats still have the bash they came with - I think I bashed the cream-colored Whippet, the tan Royal Stetson, and the Akubra (of course). Oh, and the grey Borsalino. Everything else is how it came. I'm also fond of the weird bash on the Knox. very severe and angular, but unique.

I have a cool Resistol which needs some TLC that I think I may reblock before I post. I also have a supposedly 1920s John B. Stetson brown fedora en route, and another cream-colored Resistol, plus a grey Marathon. I'll put 'em on there when they arrive (although I think the John B. Stetson will need reblocked also).

I also just got a Christmas 'bonus' of sorts...cash-wise...and rather than do something silly like pay bills with it ('cause then it's gone and I got nothing to show for it)...I think it's Optimo time. (Everyone should have one!)

Havershaw, I did a google search on "Wynewood" and came up blank. I hate when that happens. I'm guessing it was a local (where ever that is) hat company that did custom hats. It just bugs me when I see a brand that I haven't seen before and can't get the skinny on them.

You folks are welcome to use anything I've got on the Golden Age site. I'd be honored.

Yeah, I'm glad my head is reasonably small - less competition. But I feel like the hats aren't really as common either.

Jeez, I just joined this forum and I'm already jealous! Those are some swell lookin' hats you have there! My collection is a bit short on the vintage stuff right now, but hopefully not for long. I especially like that Homburg to Fedora conversion, I never would have guessed it had been anything but a fedora originally! Nice job!

Thanks for the kind words.

I do indeed plan on attending the next Queen Mary get-together. This past year, I was only able to show up for the Sunday brunch, where I did get to meet a few folks who were all super nice. I plan on being there all weekend this year, and any of my hats anyone's interested in seeing, I'll be more than happy to bring. When is it, by the way?
