That's an amazing looking hat, Torpedo! Now I can really see the benefit of getting a blue hat from Art; that color is very rare in vintage hats as others have discussed.

You should add your pictures to the Hall of Fame thread.

I love the hat. I presume that is standard weight felt, as opposed to the light weight?.

Looks like standard, dress weight to me. I believe the light weight, art-lite doesn't have a full liner.

Art will make the ultra lightweight with a liner. He made me one. But unless you and Art discussed you getting a lightweight then I would feel sure you got the regular weight beaver.

Hi,

That hat is indeed standard weight felt. I am actually considering one of those lightweights for next year's warm season. I would appreciate any information/appraisal!

Regards!

The light felt is very soft and I like it. It has that "touch it and the bash changes" quality to it and is great for those rainy spring and fall days. However, if I get another, I'd make two changes. First, I'm asking for a full lining. I think that would widen the window of time that it's wearable, and I can always clip the stitches to make it removable. Second, I find the finish of the standard sweatbands to be more comfortable than the one Art used for my lightweight. Otherwise, it's all cool, and I think there should be at least one in everybody's collection.
