My first Aero CXFQHH - fit and a few questions

My Aero has arrived today!

First of all the smell is fantastic and the leather looks and feels amazing!

I was worried about the fit as the sleeves seemed a bit long from my measurements but actually, they're just right.

I wanted to ask if the jacket will get a bit roomier in time?

I can wear it with a t-shirt perfectly, I've tried it with a sweater on top and it's pretty tight at the shoulders.

I'm a bit worried about the back that only folds in the middle as seen in the picture. Will that soften up? The jacket's still quite stiff although it started to break in before I bought it.

What are your opinions?

The jacket fits you very well!
Cxl will soften in time, but that space in the back won’t go away. It seems to be where the jacket sits on your hips. It looks great unzipped IMO, and that should fix the issue if you wear it that way.

That's a really nice jacket, great fit too.
The only way the jacket will get roomier is if you loose weight/become smaller...
The leather will relax a bit here and there, the elbows will stretch a bit, the pits will loosen, but the jacket will not become "roomier".
If you can't fit a jumper underneath today, you won't magically be able to fit a jumper in a month.

The back will break better as the leather softens, i would not worry about that.
You did well, enjoy it.

Fit looks spot on.

Horsehide typically doesn’t stretch much at all. If it does it will be ever so slightly in the very high stress points like the elbow.

From the pictures it looks like a J-100 type of design that doesn’t have side panels that allow for contouring to the shape of your back/hips. The back panel should relax a bit, but it will always kind of bulge out like that.

Nice jacket.

My experience: If you wear the jacket, say, once a week for a few hours, it will take years before the jacket 'breaks in'. I've had an Aero Barnstormer in CXL Horsehide for seven years and it STILL is not broken in. I recommend you wear the jacket as much as possible for as long as possible to get it broken in. Like a pair of faded, worn in jeans, the softness and 'lived in' look is something that has to be earned. Try not to succumb to any quick fix approaches like throwing it wet into the dryer with tennis balls, etc. Good Luck!

Damn that's a great fit, like it was made for you. This is the kind of fit others accomplish after having 5 jackets custom made for them. Is this also the jacket you wanted to have shortened? If it is, you've saved yourself some money because this is perfect as is.

I wouldn't worry about the extra material in the back. This is perfectly normal for this pattern (the jacket not not having side panels).

You did good, congrats.

If you really want it softer quickly, throw it in a hot bath for an hour and wear it on and off while it dries. CXL can totally handle it.

Fit looks great in your pictures! But only you know how it feels to wear it.

It won’t stretch to become bigger or more comfortable with time. If it’s not comfortable now, it won’t become comfortable ever.

That bunching in the back looks like it’s caused by the bottom hem being a little too tight. That won’t go away either. But it might become less pronounced as the CXL softens up with time. It does soften up quite substantially rather quickly in my experience.

Bottom line, it looks great in pictures! If it feels as good as it looks, this is definitely a keeper.

Thank you! I thought so, it's heavy and stiff indeed, gotta get used to it :D

Thank you, I've tried it again and I can move relatively ok with a jumper, probably I'm not used to have such heavy and thick leather around my body

Thank you Marc, that's the one indeed. I'm glad I eventually decided to leave it like this as I thought I would try it first.

I also had a custom jacket made in the past and it was really bad with all the measurements I gave them.

Do you think a wider bottom hem would fix 'the problem'? I thought this was inherent to the pattern, just having front and back panels (no side panels)
Here you see the exact same issue although the bottom hem is almost too wide.

Adding side panels does the trick, like with this Thedi.

But those side panels make the jacket look more feminine imo. Therefore I prefer the classic pattern.

I'll wear it for a few days and see how it feels after my body adjust with this type of jacket, I wore it for some time already and it starts to feel better...and I had the jumper on
