Hombre, a mi me gusta su sombrero! Beautiful hat, Phil. Style galore, western, and that "belongs". Congratulations. Beaver uh...yep...

In the french language, when someone does something great, or performs very well, eliciting respect, it is common to say "Chapeau!" It means (of course) hat! (referring, I guess, to Hats off!)

Thanks for all the good comments....they reflect Mikes' good work

more than anything....To answer your questions, the hat is what Mike calls his Western weight pure 100% beaver felt. It is incredibly soft and smooth. The sides of the crown are like nothing I have ever touched in a hat. It is all back in the box, safely wrapped up under the tree. It is sitting beside my new Wested custom washed goat Indy Jones jacket...but that is another story for another forum!

The color is silver belly. The ribbon is black and the horsehair option is very nice. These hats are custom made to your specifications and sell for $400 in pure beaver. The horsehair bands are $25-$100.

Mike communicated perfectly via phone and email at every step. He made suggestions at every step and let me have the final word. I can't wait to get to Tennessee some day and meet Mike in person. Strange things these forums, it feels like I have lots of new friends, even though I have never met any of you. This is a great place. Thanks for taking me in.

Now, that butternut color felt....I feel the need for a Mike fedora....Oh brother, I am hooked! Got to get something for the wife too....she has moved from disinterested support to active desire for a hat. I think that is a good thing! She is going to the few places in town where she can try hats on to see what size works best. Thanks again Mike for making me a proud Buckarooite, Buckarooist????

Phil, you are very welcome, thank you for allowing me to make this hat for you.

The reporter asked me two weeks ago if I have ever made a hat for any one famous? my relpy was " Every hat I have made was for some one famous,Each of my customers are famous to me, no matter what they what they do or where they come from, they all are famous in my eyes and heart, because they allowed me to make a hat for them."

Very nice hat, a good look. I hope some day to own a 100% beaver hat. Seems you paid a fair price for an excellent hat. Congratulations.
