I did my tree this weekend

and put on some of my favorite ornaments. I believe they are from Dover Publications, I got them about 10 years ago.

Apologies for the lousy quality of the photos, I'm hoping I've been good enough for Santa to put a new digital camera under this tree.

Here's mine! 50's style silver tree (actually just the top half of a 7ft tree that I have no room for!), original 50's starburst tree top (looks like the spaceship baby Kal-El crash landed on Earth in!) and 40's repro two-tone lights and ornaments made by Kurt Adler a few years ago. They were exact replicas of their original stuff, right down to the packaging! There's also a couple of original celluloid ornaments on there as well.

Love the cat shot! What is it with cats and Christmas trees? lol

I'm digging on everyone's trees. Here's ours from last year - this year it is sitting on our "new" 1950s bar. I need to find a different topper as the star is a little big:

Flattop, your Christmas tree looks great, but I thought I would let you know...

You should never put electric lights on an aluminum Christmas tree! It is very unsafe and it is a huge fire hazard. It's also an electrocution hazard. They didn't even put electric lights on aluminum Christmas trees in the fifties because they were aware of the hazards then. Instead they used rotating color wheels to light the trees. You could find a vintage one, or they make new ones now that are the same. And the wiring is much safer on the new color wheels. I've seen them for sale from Harriet Carter and the Vermont Country Store. Both stores are online.

Please I don't mean to criticize your tree, but I saw a safety issue and felt I had to say something. Lights on aluminum Christmas trees is a huge no-no!

This tree isn't aluminum( I don't think). It's made of whatever garland is made of! Thanks for the head's up though!

Such nice trees! My family doesn't have one this year (we will be out of the country for Christmas) and this thread is making me miss it even more!

I love the tinsel tree especially!

Aw! I LOVE seeing everyone's trees!!! When we were growing up we always had a family tree that my mom decorated with velvet bows and old fashioned ornaments then we had a formal tree wich my mom always did in victorian style- very pretty.

Christmas 2006

Here's a pic of my living room. I've been really busy this year and haven't gotten everything out but I always find time to put up the tree!
