I dropped in our local hospital thrift shop today. No good coats. No suits. nasty '70's ties. But up on top of the rack were two hats. There was a fedora and a slouch hat.
The slouch was nothing to speak of- floppy wool felt- came from LL bean.
but the fedora- I tried it on. It was a tad big, but only by a tad.
It's a grey cavanagh hat, with the cavanagh edge. It looks like it was worn extremely gently, as there are no sweatstains, and no wear.
The brim measures in at two inches. Maybe a bit stingy for most people here, but the felt is so nice. The hat sold for 16 bucks new. I picked it up for less than a third of that.
Pics to come as soon as I can find my stinkin' digital camera.
