Hello!
The story of my A-2 began in 2010, when I finally got my (first) Aero A-2. A little bit too blousy, but I liked it. Later I found the leather – it was smooth seal brown midweight HH – to become stale, because it didn’t break in even after wearing the jacket in the rain, and it always looked like new.
Beside this I felt certain that brown is not m y colour, and consequently I sold it. And I wanted a trimmer fit ...
About one year later I ordered another Aero A-2, yet being sure that I’d like brown for my A-2. The jerky HH was not convincing at all – I didn’t like the kind of how it felt and it easily got light spots even without treating it hard. And this jacket was much too roomy for me (1942 contract, size 38). I sent it back and Aero made another one. This time I chose the oilpull hide, contract 1938, sized up to 42 with the arms and the back length customized (arms and back 26.5”). Normally I wear size 38, but I sized up because the 1938 contract is said to be very trim fitted.
When the jacket arrived in January this year I liked the leather very much, but again sizing was a debacle – at least two sizes too big. Pit2pit was more than 1.2" bigger than ordered. Aero took it back and did a remake.
Last week this remake arrived, and I am fully satisfied now – sizing is as perfect as can be, and the oilpull leather is really great. Thanks Aero, especially Amanda and Edith (who made the jacket).
By the end of this year my Good Wear Werber will be finished, and I am very curious about comparing these two jackets (fit, leather, etc.).
Yes, and of course I’ll show pics again!
Kind regards,
Johannes
