Musician's hats

This is my tribute to ZZ Top and Dusty Hill, although not his model hat. A beaver felt, a dye job gone horribly wrong it just cried out for a ZZ Top tribute.

I added an extension to my block to get the 7" open. Added the brim binding and the tension gave it the curl....enough room for me to add a bandana underneath

. Next felt mistake I will replicate Dusty's hat from the 2013 Live at Montreux concert.

Im not sure.... but I saw him at a little club in Memphis a few years ago. He put on a wonderful show.

I don't think he travels much anymore. He books out dates in his club to other performers (like the theater owners in Branson, MO do) then he performs & fills the dates out he can't sell. Smart!

I can't remember what it's over but he's involved in some long running legal battle too, unless that's been settled finally.

I think Ol' Bocephus has worn many cool hats through the years.

Yes he has, and as you said he managed to make some pretty fine music over the years, too. Being raised with the country music of the mid-60s through early 80s, I'm a big fan of "outlaw country" and honky-tonk. Hank Jr. did both really well, when he wanted to.
