what an incredible band, band leader and entertainer .. lot of similarities between him, his band and ellington and his orchestra.

on the bandstand, if bob heard you repeat yourself, he wasn't happy ; )
and .. band never knew who he was going to give the "ride" to so you had to always be heads up watching .. when you were finished he wanted you, smiling, to give it back to him.

Come to think of it, Mick Jagger and his little outfit said the same thing not so long ago here in Zilker Park in Austin... about half a mile from where I sit.

Donavon's a big hat wearer. He seems to like OR type hats too.
